Needs comment for HU - Pioneer AVH-Z5050BT

Nope. It was a no brand stock unit. Suzuki wanted to charge me 1500 for a pioneer headunit which I find it expensive so decided to get it installed outside. I'm sure the Bluetooth and call function will work if I get it done at suzuki so there must be a way to get it to work.

Try Bukit merah lane 1 BLK 125 specialist audio. I got my Kenwood unit wiring fix up and my steering remote now working fully even the Bluetooth button is working as well.

I'm new to the forum and I also recently installed the z5050bt about 3 months back. Malaysian here btw. I just would like to all the sifus here, if you guys encountered issues where Waze can be launch but not able to access the controls through the headunit (even though Waze's "control Waze from car unit toggle is switch to ON").

 

Also, when connected to Spotify, sometimes it the screen will be stalled showing previous song title, album and artiste instead of the current song title, album and artiste. It will be only be change after switching the headunit on and off.

 

Phone connected is IPhone 7plus.

 

Any recommendations / solutions is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Confirm can work.

 

You need to download Android Auto apk from apkmirror.

 

Anyway, I stopped using Android Auto on my z5050bt as I find it hard to see the screen for navigation and the voice interrupting radio is quite annoying.  Also, when connected, the phone can't be used so I can't check for info while at red light, but can use voice commands to reply SMS, whatsapp and Allo.

 

Maybe good for driving in MY.

 

Recently I heard there's wireless Android Auto coming soon and I hope this HU can support that with a firmware upgrade.

 

 

Doesn't work with my S7 Edge though. Have been trying since I collected my car last week.

 

Which Android phone are you using?

May I know what's your firmware version is running on your 5050 and what USB cable are you using to connect your phone to the 5050?

Even my 2015 galaxy A8 works with a alibaba cable so Samsung phones definitely are not the problem. The z5050 firmware shouldn't matter except for Apple phones. Mine worked from day 1. As for the USB MTP, I don't need to give access, use the default one.

 

You just need to make sure you have a few things:

1) Android 5+ (lollipop and above)

2) Data cable (try connecting it to your pc to make sure it works)

3) Android Auto apk installed on phone.

 

What I haven't test is if it'll work with custom firmwares.

 

I suggest you try a different phone or a different cable. Most audio shop will provide a usb extension for you, maybe that is the problem. If nothing helps, you can always go back to your auto shop/dealer.

The 5050 came with my car hence I have no idea who was the installer. I am trying to see if I can sort this out first before going back to my SE for his installer's contact.

Just get the installer contact and rectify. Why crack your head over this?

If ask you to install appradio, means the cable is ok. Did you install android auto apk from apkmirror?

 

Under system settings of 5050, you can also set android auto, auto launch.

Missed out one of the question. No need to shut down bluetooth. In fact, android auto uses the bluetooth to transmit music and calls.

 

If still cannot, tmr you come to punggol I try to fix. (Free but no promises it'll work)

Does anyone know how to mute the HU automatically upon engaging the reverse gear?

 

Mine doesn’t even ATT (attenuate to lower volume) and the reverse beeper is hard to listen to.
