Roh96 6th Gear March 4, 2019 Share March 4, 2019 Are you still waiting for it to drop further? As a salesperson they will never say it will drop and ask u to wait. The first time i stepped into a showroom looking for a replacement ride was 3-4 years back , the vezel that time was almost 120k, now at about 80+k. Big difference in price. Each phase there's a reason to come out with, CEV, VES, low quota etc. ↡ Advertisement

Lotr8445r 5th Gear March 5, 2019 Share March 5, 2019 (edited) When VES is increased by $10k from what it is now. All things being equal, the COE will drop correspondingly by this amount.Yah, this VES thing is the worst of all. Coe and omv still can get back the unuse amount when selling car but ves is an immediate lost once we sign the dot. Furthermore, AD just pass this ves penalty to buyer w/o absorbing 50%. In another words, a 35k coe with 10k ves now is worst off than a 45k coe in the past. Those folk that has been sitting fence before the ves implementation to get a better performance car has to suck thumb:( Edited March 5, 2019 by Lotr8445r

I am referring to cars that are not impacted by VES meaning cars that have ZERO VES yet get to enjoy the lower COE.

I am referring to cars that are not impacted by VES meaning cars that have ZERO VES yet get to enjoy the lower COE.You look at C180 and C200 pricing. The former is VES $10k and the latter is VES neutral. The dealer just makan the margin. So consumers don’t really get to benefit from the car being VES neutral.

But only the price of the B&B cars will follow COE fluctuations, premium brand cars, even they dont drop price, people still buy. Roh96 6th Gear March 6, 2019 Share March 6, 2019 Just walk away and don't buy. Anyway, I don't feel pain for that segment of consumers. Perhaps $10K is a small change to them. Typical main stream B&B cat like, altis, Civic, Impreza, mazda3, k3, avente got VES bonus? Probably the ves only benefit to the lower grade level B&B car type. Do we see more of such car on the road then other classes?
