Only the top tier 10% will enjoy living in the country.The answer is simple. We have only 700 sq km. That’s 700,000,000 sqm. Every housing unit 1,000sqm, we can only build 700,000 units all across island. So we build higher. Right now probably 1,4000,000 units of housing (excluding commercial and industrial). I don’t think it’s inevitable. U never know what future technology can bring. I think SG is diff from hk in that we have a lot of hdb which is decent Sized. Just saw the eshowroom for hdb... their bedroom look small... Or just power? Well, you don't know about the massive island wide wire up for cable vision? Each household has to pay $2,200 to connect from this box to your house. Government spent millions and dug up many roads just to lay these cables. End of the day, they didn't complete the whole island. This was done when others have advised that such technology is dated but they went ahead.
