quark japan is quite expensive but their pieces are nice.

No point buying such normal every-noob-has-one modern Rolex since you are already in Japan.

Get a solid 5 digit ref or a 4 digit vintage. More unique and valuable in the long run

The male lead put on many many rolexes to protect his arm so that when the zombies bite, he can use his arm to block them off and not get bitten

Like to seek opinions of using a watch winder versus not using one. Some say use one will make the watch last longer for next servicing. If not in use the oil will dry up etc etc.

Some say if use winder then watch will always be moving and gears will spoil faster.

The oil used for movements do not dry up easily.

If your servicing interval is 5 to 10 yrs i dont think its an issue at all.

I have never used a winder in my life, never an issue to date.

Have also left watches in drawer unworn for several months at one go. Also no issue.

So i think any fear is unwarranted unless you are talking about cold storaging the watch without any movement for several years at one go.

Not running the watch for several weeks or months is no problem.

Look at Rolex AD, do they use winders? All the watches sitting there unmoved.

Maybe the sales guy shakes every watch every few days? Muayhahahahaha

Well said bro. Thanks.

Went and bought a new watch winder after a friend told me about the oil drain up.

I just wound up my manual watches (including automatics) in the morning, for me, it's more like distributing the oil rather than preventing it from drying up

I do that once in 2~3 months

I don't own watch winder. IMHO, there is a balance between the benefits and mechanical wear if you keep the watch running constantly by putting it on a winder.

a stopped movement has zero mechanical wear

We don't keep our car engine spinning all the time using an external "winder" for the fear of engine oil drying up right?  [grin]

Thats why i am confused as there are two school of thoughts with regards to watch winders. I am not always into automatic watches, more into G-Shocks. Now begin to venture more into dress watches so trying to find our more.

Hope the 'pros' here do not post so sarcastically, everyone is learning from somewhere.

Do you think its easier to buy a Sub from the ADs in HK?

It is easy to get a Rolex, as long as it is not SS Sports model.
But, to get a SS Sports model is more difficult, I have been waiting and checking for GMT and Daytona for I also forgot how long
