The fire involved a kitchen stove and Kitchen Exhaust Ducting (KED) in a restaurant on the 2nd floor. The fire was extinguished by the water sprinkler prior to SCDF's arrival.

Talking about hotel fires this is the 2nd hotel fire in 2 months. The earlier one is at Carlton what switchroom fire. I think scdf need to do some work.

I think it is NEA that control F&B licence. So what do they check when renewing licence? General cleanliness once a year?

 

Looking at the exhaust of all these food outlet, the amount of oil and smell emitting show lack of filter and maintenance. Fire is just waiting to happen.
