Watwheels Supersonic April 1, 2019 Share April 1, 2019 (edited) Whoa, at 37 you are talking about cervical spondylosis? Seriously? Not April fool's joke? Is this a diagnosis from your doctor? I think it has something to do with your lifestyle. Do you spend a lot of hours sitting and staying in a position? What are you using for your chair, like office chair? These are reasons why so many ppl got back/shoulder/neck problems. Throw away your office chair and get a solid wood chair. Once your posture is out of alignment what gym you go to or what sports you do also will cause you pain. You already mentioned only the bone setting person could help your relieve your pain. Meaning it's mainly a posture issue. But due to your lifestyle you keep going back to your bad posture. That's why the pain never goes away. Note: once posture set back to good doesnt mean it will not go bad. It all depends on you to keep the posture good. Just this sore feeling at neck & shoulder area which won't go away.. BanCoe Hypersonic April 1, 2019 Share April 1, 2019 Anyone have issues with stiff necks & shoulders, pain in neck, cervical spondylosis, etc? I've been having issues with the neck for past year..... seen doctors, chiropractors and bone setters. Seems better but its always there.. Anyone have any good recommendation ? I suppose you have seen an Ortho also right ?? I don’t really can tell how bad the pain is but you’ll be surprised of the mantra “Time Heals” ..... I’ve had some irritating elbow/ knee pains and sometimes like after 6 months or so one fine day you suddenly realize the pain is gone ( this having said after doing an MRI also the doc found nothing spectacularly wrong ) too but for back you have to follow thru with physio and posture / gait n core muscles excercises

Chiropractor : reverse curve in neck. probably due to long period of working infornt of the computer and usage of mobile phone.. Bone setter : similar to chiro GP : very mild cervical spondylosis. ENT Specialist : I went to see ENT as I felt lump in throat and this sensation came together with the neck pain. Did multiple scopes and nothing wrong. Was told is GERD. Now after months of treatment by bone setter, its much better. But the soreness seems to shift from neck area to shoulder area. Ya...I think its probably due to my lifestyle... after I start to have this problem, I stop playing on my mobile phone, adjusted computer monitor and try to sit straight... This feeling sucks actually... I suppose you have seen an Ortho also right ?? I don’t really can tell how bad the pain is but you’ll be surprised of the mantra “Time Heals” ..... The initial 6 months the pain was quite bad..and it causes me to have dizzy spells and headaches. After seeing the bone setter for a couple of months the pain, dizziness and headaches went away..was told its due to the unnatural curve of the spine (neck area) which results in nerves at the neck area to be under pressure. now much better, just this nagging soreness along shoulder to neck area. can reco ur bone setter? tks. Bro, Pmed you. I'm suspect you might want to first re-look at your sleeping, sitting and standing posture. But with age, some exercise goals may need to change towards "maintenance" and "consistency" rather than "power" and "excellence". Especially if we are not professionals. On the same note, good or bad swimmer actually is never mind. But for me, I'm lazy to commute to swimming pool. So I do calisthenics exercises and running where I can do consistently anywhere. Join us on the exercise thread - https://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2710057-exercising-and-losing-weight/page-754 Mostly people older young though. [laugh] sure thing bro! Bro, Pmed you. I suggest in future you see an Ortho in any of our govt hospitals in future, costs only about $35/- ( make sure you go by polyclinic route) and MRI is about $300-$400 and they will not do anything fancy much and conservative too and today’s sedentary lifestyle is surely contributing to such aches and cold AC too ; I’ve had spondylitis with prolapsed disc when I was touching 40 but mine was becos of carrying heavy loads of cargo just anyhow thinking I was Tarzan when young

After the X-ray, the GP said nothing serious and no need to see Ortho. Just gave me pain killers and ask me to monitor. Just gave me pain killers.X-ray no pakai one but OK at primary level end up with Anarex or Voltaren creams or koyok patches (must cry a little bit father n mother ) and insist to see a specialist as it’s debilitating and affecting work /career .... cannot keep asking for Mc’s and all that stuff .... most to most they will give you an Ortho appt for like 2 months later
Hosaybo 6th Gear April 7, 2019 Share April 7, 2019 (edited) The head is pretty heavy and actually exert alot of pressure on the neck. Bad posture and office job create alot of strain. To release the pressure, lie on the bed edge, with the head over hanging, stretch your hands and relax. Use the head weight (gravity) to "stretch" and relax the neck. Do this for 5-10 minutes everyday. It helps. Disclaimer, it serious pain, dun try this Edited April 7, 2019 by Hosaybo
Jamesc Hypersonic April 7, 2019 Share April 7, 2019 As I always say If anyone has any stiff part of their body giving them problems they should just go for a good massage to make the stiffness go away. It always works for me.
Jamesc Hypersonic April 7, 2019 Share April 7, 2019 Communication is very important. Must tell the massage lady or men up to your personal preference which area is stiff and give them a big tip so that they can focus more on masaaging that area.
Scion Turbocharged April 7, 2019 Share April 7, 2019 Simple solution: reduce usage of mobile phone and tablet immediately and see the results almost instantly (few days later). i think this is very true... notice your neck has to support the weight of your tilted head... for a prolonged period of time, definitely will cause stress and pain A recent study published in the journal 'Surgical Technology International' shows that when you are standing or sitting straight your head weighs, 10 to 12 lbs. on average. But if you lean 15 degrees forward, the head weight is more like 27 lbs. With a 30-degree tilt, 40 lbs. 1 lb = 0.45kg

Mercury1 Turbocharged April 8, 2019 Share April 8, 2019 I have similar problems on the right side of my shoulder, definitely due to posture and mouse use. I am seeing a core concepts who are suggesting several exercises etc which am abit lazy to implemented regularity (my fault) but the consult sessions are not cheap Anyway I googled around and found that these two might help, the mouse is more to shift the way we use a normal mouse to activate different muscles I simulated it and it does seem to give relief and the other is a elbow support. I'll keep you updated if you're interested to know how helpful it is. https://www.lazada.sg/-i286448186-s460411600.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&spm=spm=a2o42.order_details.item_title.1 https://www.lazada.sg/-i281077694-s442336940.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1 Its like $55 per visit. Actually all my problems came when I changed to this new office... it's prob the height of the new table and chairs. they are not the right height for you for reading, typing, mousing etc. i kanna before also. only resolved when i changed my faulty chair for a new one which is more easily adjustable.
