yup.. but i guess that should not affect the casino earnings much since these are usually the people that probably just want to take a look..

Gambling is under the Ministry for Trade and Industry.......that sounds weird....

MTI get the glory for announcing got new investments and new jobs.

Social problem arising from gambling let NCPG settle ...  [grin]

When one out of three stops going is like 33.3% drop from $300 to $200.

With two remaining continue to visit at $150 per head is like 50% increase in revenue but real term is still $300.

So, eat the swine to compensate for the doggie.

the conclusion that "Muttons" drew was that they want to further discourage locals to visit casino. which is rather reasonable IMO.

if per entry levy goes up but annual membership remains unchanged, the hardcores will just join the annual membership.

i don't think so.. hardcores would've already gone for the annual membership..

Annual membership now $3k instead of $2k. The hardcore will kpkb but will probably gamble extra hard to 'win' back the extra amount.

Thank you for contributing to the economy..

Gambling addiction rate under control: Survey

SINGAPORE - The setting up of the two casinos here in 2010 did not lead to more Singaporeans getting hooked on gambling, as many had feared before they opened at Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa.

The pathological and problem gambling rate among Singaporeans and permanent residents was 0.9 per cent in the 2017 survey by the National Council on Problem Gambling. It inched up from 0.7 per cent in the 2014 survey, but the change is not statistically significant, the council's spokesman said.
