13177 Supersonic April 16, 2019 Share April 16, 2019 Not really. Saturday was really the worst day I had in years. After feeling sick the whole morning, I was damn sian on sat evening when I was at the a&e. Just felt bloody suay. Just lie down on the trolley half asleep while freezing in the a&e for hours, go up to the ward, lie down half asleep while the nurses etc do their things. Next day, in the morning Just naturally feel better even though I'm lying in hospital by myself. Granted I'm lucky and that it wasn't anything serious in the end. I'm currently in a 4 bedder. I wouldn't want to trade places with any of the other 3. So in life, tomorrow is another day. Its a simple truth. A&E or even hospital usually freezing de, remember to wear something that keep you warm.
Weezersg 3rd Gear April 16, 2019 Share April 16, 2019 (edited) I would like to share my experience of also finding a lump on my left testicle and there is a faint feeling of pressure ( as in water filled balloon ) I dilly dally for quite a while but finally made an appointment with a Urologist at Gleneagles. He really admonished me for delaying to see a Dr, he told me whenever we feel something is not right, please see a Dr asap. He is really experience Dr, he basically made premilinary diagnosis just by touching and feeling it. I was sent to do an ultrasound scan to confirm the diagnosis. It is Epididymal Cyst which is benign. Though during the waiting time, I was quite anxious. It can be operate on with just day surgery. But is not a must unless you feel pain. I didnt coz I really scared of knife lol, so the "thing" is still with me. Before this, I never really pay much attention to health or body. But after this episode, I dont put so much emphasis on worldly things as much coz I realize our time on earth is quite limited, there are others things we must pursue and cherish as well. Anyway to the thread starter, wish you a speedy recovery. Edited April 16, 2019 by Weezersg

To begin with, who would've thought that the balls would be different-sized to begin with, and it's usually the left side that is bigger? And this is pretty normal. Problem is that most people would be deterred by the cost of going to a specialist straightaway and do the arduous but cheaper route of getting a referral from a polyclinic. That takes time and could be an issue if it's something serious. Edited April 17, 2019 by Sosaria

It seems like many people could neglect their testicle since how often people would find time to check thoroughly on their testicle, and even some would touch their testicle, they might not know how and what to check for, and may think there is nothing wrong. Anyway, although your condition is not critical but maybe it is better to consider to go for operation before it might become painful or worse?! If you are not convinced, can always seek a 2nd opinion. There are many skin lumps etc which are nothing serious and a doctor can tell u that to a reasonable degree even without any investigation. If there's investigation involved, then at least, there's some knowledge or elimination of worst case scenario. There are a lot of people who feel ignorance is bliss. But without knowledge, how can u eliminate fear. The problem is that most people rather let their fear run their lives. There's nothing wrong with getting a referral from polyclinic. In fact, for many issues, I still ask pt to get referral from polyclinic to govt hospital esp for non urgent stuff. The truth is not many things r that urgent. Similarly if its urgent urgent, the polyclinic will still ask u go a&e
13177 Supersonic April 17, 2019 Share April 17, 2019 Actually ignorance indeed is bliss la. When you do not know anything, fear would not run your life. Thats why when we are kids, we dont feel scare when doing anything, mainly because we are ignorance, dont know what would be the danger or never think of any consequences. But as we grow older and older, due to more knowledge we have, and highly educated we are, the more fear we get, cause we know the danger and risk about the things around us. I would argue against that.Responsibility to yourself and your family. Just like how we take responsibility for our children's future in the way we nurture them, how we plan household expenses etc to make sure we have money for their tertiary education and needs etc. And not let them eat sweets for breakfast lol Take care of yourself like how u would take care of someone you are responsible for. Of course not in every instance, but that's the general aim. Edited April 17, 2019 by Lala81

Recently when i renew my medishield with IP, AIA offers an additional service of Medix which is an independent review by a panel of doctors. This is similar to 2nd opinion. It is the first time i heard of Medix. Whats your take in this? Reliable?

Where if u go to their panel specialist, u can be covered up to one year follow up appointments from hospitalisation instead of 90 days.

In about 6 months it grew from about 20ct coin size to a small dumpling size, and was rather painful to the touch. Called the hospital and reopen my case but was told appt is only 1 month later. Went to pvt clinic and the doc referred me to the hospital he is affiliated to, 3 days later. The specialist doc at the hospital said it was infected and had day surgery done in the same afternoon.
