Come on. Asking for universal suffrage is akin to asking for full autonomy and it's just a very short step to independence from then on.
U are not asking to be a special administrative region anymore.

what hk people “perception” of universal suffrage is hk people ownself govern ownself

we elect our own leader  ... 1 country 2 systems

hk has full autonomy of what the hk people want and hk people do

but currently ... whatever hkee do ... hkee sleep ... hkee eat ... hkee shit ... must ask ah gong and must be approved by ah gong

ask to sit ... must sit ... ask to stand must stand

but you are right ... hk people will not stop there

they want hk is hk ... hk is not china

hkee want 2047 never come

prc want 2047 ... now now ... pronto!

You are quite determined in your support of the 港独份子。

Just curious, your family migrated over from HK in the 90s?

Probably he could share what these rioters are after. Up till now, I didn't understand what they are rioting for. Unhappy over the economy or wish to be part of England or?

I could be completely wrong on the underlying principles but it appears to me that the protestors want the kind of the deal that the UK government (whatever is left of it) hopes to achieve with the EU - trade perks and concessions without the need to comply with requirements of EU membership, in areas such as open borders for example, and we can see how wildly successful they are!

Of course, the key difference is that the UK has sovereignty but all Hong Kong has is SAR status completely at the charity and mercy of the Central government. So at this time, all they can do is protest and riot......

Where got ppl talk about Independent?

A protest movement marching on the US Consulate asking for "liberation".

There is plenty post-its around with "Liberate" and "Independence" on the wall.

Don't copy Britain they also don't know what kind of deal they want with Europe.

:D

Western-style democracy is faltering not because of its principles but because of disruptive methods that subvert those foundations.

They are telling the whole world openly that they want Independent, yet got people telling us “Where got ppl talk about Independent?”  This is what Chines says: 睜眼說瞎話.

True colours finally coming out! All other demands have always been smoke screen to prep for this outcome. Too bad it will never happen, unless hk riot until becoming a slum then maybe got chance, but it will take years.

Haiz.

Dunno why but these days i do get a little upset whenever i see his picture.

He has and still does, all the power in his hand to be merciful to the protesters and their families a generation back and a generation forward IF ONLY he did not sell his apartments at such sky high prices in the first place AND is willing to sell back some land to the govt for public housing.

IF ONLY

He is willing and live by what he is saying now. If he does i know he will get alot more respect than now from his own ppl. I will respect him instead of feeling he is being hypocritical.

Not as if he and family will be so adversely affected if he is less greedy now. 😅

Just my tots

Safe ride

Cheers

Maybe when you grow to big, you think you are above the law. He wants to be the king in HK? These riots will cost him but he seems to be the quieter ones.
