The protestors have no idea who they are up against with. Case in point, Taiwan. Any talk of independence is akin to stirring the hornets nest.

I hope the protesters know what they are asking for. They should know China will destroy HK rather than letting them become independent. 

I really think the protesters are overly naive. Targeting public infrastructure will not support their cause. People who used to be on their side, locally or internationally will turn their back on them. 

 

Laslty, no country will dirty their hands over a place where there is nothing to gain for, I.e.no naturally resources. Who will want to inherit people who behave like hooligans.

I think I know the real reason for the protest. 

They want to say good bye to China but they need a catchy name like Brexit.

Brexit is the first part of Britain and the last part of Exit. 

So they can take the first part of China Chi and last part of good bye. 

I think it will sound way cooler than boring Brexit. Way cooler

Can you imagine all the protesters on the street shouting the name of what they really want?

From young, my deep impression of this story was made by the HK serials, starred by famous HKee actors/actresses.

Even now, looking at these HKees are reminding me of this story...
