The AMDK or banana-skin commentators will lament that HK used to be so free, can talk anything, can read anything, now "freedoms eroding".

But reality is that all these old HK characteristics will end and become zero in 2047. Any person with a brain in HK will know they need to prepare and adapt to it slowly by assimilating to the mainland.

If really hate it, then have to migrate to holy land like U.S.A to become 2nd class citizens.

Since there is an entire batch of a few million china-haters now in HK, my prediction is that China will cut-off this area, starve it to death economically to eliminate this group of people. Then reborn with a new batch of immigrants from mainland.

HK is HK because it's different. If you make HK same as Shanghai then there is no need for HK.

It's like Silicon Valley is successful because of freedom of thought and action.  The negative is a hire and fire culture. If put in a law to control companies not firing and retrenching people because unemployed people is bad. Then Silicon Valley will not be successful anyone more.

The funny thing is China wants to control HK more in terms of freedom of speech and thought. But what they need to control more is anti competition action.

In USA they have anti trust laws to protect people from monopolies.

HK gov and China are trying to control the wrong thing.

The solution for HK is very simple.

They should implement socialism with Hong Kong characteristics in HK.

Take all the land belonging to the rich developers and make public flats for the people to buy.

If everyone have their own condo they won't be protesting in the streets.

:D

Someone must have makaned Alot of money in the past lor ........

The problem is not political but economics.

Every government need to trim the excess of a capitalist system when a few individuals or companies can distort the price mechanism by holding so much market share that they can exercise monopoly or oligopoly power.

The communist government in China should not be shy about building public housing in line with their socialist values for the good of the whole country and not just a few property tycoon billionaires.

You are communists stop being shy about it. The common good of the country is more important than a few individual self interest.

Love the people not the bourgeoisie.

If China wants to control Hong Kong, today there will be no rioting, no obstruction of traffic, no throwing of China flags, no wacking of Police officers, no singing of foreign national anthems, no destruction of the MRTs, no carrying and flying US and British flags in Chinese soil etc.  People who incite against peace and stability after being arrest can still leave country....what more freedom do they want ?  In any country, doing any of those mentioned be prepared to receive harsh punishment from the authorities. They actually have freedom, too much freedom I think until things  get out of hand. Should learnt not to trumpet like foreign press, every thing China or HK govt do or even do nothing will be inappropriate.  People living during British time and now is just as bad but there are no KPKB during British time. The people just prefer being rule by some others.

Most ppl that was arrested has to surrender their travel document.

Without sufficient evidence to support travel request, unlikely court will approve it especially those filght risk.

Any info on how many names were there? What's the percentage vs the whole medical industry? Truly representing the majority?

It is funny when you have people reading western press about companies linked to china and senior staff being patriotic. While the west talks alot on such subject, their actions have already proven beyond doubt they were the ones doing such things. Just look at FB alone you will know it belongs to who.

My flight on CX last week to HK was half full only, coming back, it was like 30% filled only.

Lots of empty seats.

Even the CX lounge in HKIA, it was less crowded, but of course, overall the whole airport is less crowded due to lower number of tourist.

五大诉求,缺一不可????

WHY???

Because everyone knows it will never happen, and it gives them enough excuses to keep on rioting until they get independent. thats why they insist there is no room for negotiation. Thats why they keep singing 五大诉求,缺一不可!!!!

The bill can be killed, CL can step down, and for god sake they can even agree to set up the independent panel to investigate the police ( which I dont agree, and dont see any top management and leaders will ever agree to it now). But to declare the riots as non riots but peaceful protest? And to release those rioters who have cause unrest in the city and destroy public properties, and not to charge them?  Total rubbish!!!!!

A riot is a riot, does not matter what is the cause of it. If you break the law, well,  you broke the law, and you will have take responsibility for that action. Thats the law isnt it?

So, how to have 五大诉求,缺一不可??? Just excuses to continue their act, nothing more than illusions and excuses, and no different from a broken recorder playing broken records day in day out.

DLLM!!![laugh][laugh][laugh]
