HK rioters are lucky they aren't in USA and they have Xi instead of Trump. Haha

After security law is passed and implemented, HK rioters won't be so lucky anymore.

Anyone, including rioters, can disappear into thin air and there will be little due process.

The way the law was passed is no diff from our EP amendment

You meant rubber stamp?

No.

It was inserted into Basic Law rather than enacting local law.

Article 23 requirement is enacting a local legislative

Personally, I think that is a worth it trade off for peace and stability for those who want peace and stability.

After seeing how US treats those "blacks" (African American) and Asian (blamed for spreading the Corona virus) citizens, I doubt HK citizen will think twice of going over ... [sly]

Taiwan is a better choice for them. Afterall, Tsai welcome them  ... :meaw:

There are also 3k ppl from entertainment industry support it.

p.s.Since there are so many supporters, why Pro-Beijing LEGCO member can't get the law passed?

I am not sure majority of HK people who want peace and stability appreciates the security law as much as you do. 😂 I have a few HK friends in their 40s and 50s and none of them trust China.

Don't make trouble,  just make money. I don't think the ccp will want to kacheow ppl for nothing., esp when hkg is getting so much attention.

No one will really know, other than ccp members,  if the new law will really affect the OCTS agreement...

Right *now*,  I see it as just to prevent trouble makers from creating trouble.

No doubt some might want "freedom" ... But should not be at the expense of others.

Just like our dear sovereign lady... She wants to do what she likes... But what if she is allowed to and end up getting sick and then infecting others?

Does those rioters understand the extradition bill before they go riot?

It is almost the same news.

Look at War Wolf Zhao reaction in my previous reply.

Then that will be a test for them... See if they will really not interfere with the choices of the hkg people who wants to migrate.

If they really stop the hkgers from migrating, then there is a problem with their law.
