I am busy on the AI thread.

Artificial intelligence artificial intelligence.

The real problem is people are so stupid.

Instead of spending million on making machines smarter

please spend the millions on making PEOPLE smarter.

And I do not mean more knowledgeable I mean WISER.

😀

Hong Kong people don't want to spend all their lives working to pay rent for 30, 40, 50 years

and after 50 of paying rent still do not own anything

and then give birth to children and have them work for 50 years paying rent and still do not own anything.

Its like the if our water supply can be a private company I will sell everything and buy as much of this company as I can.

I will then increase the price until people spend every last cent to buy my water.

If people protest in the street I will ask the police to stop them as their protests are illegal.

😀

This is happening in USA. Not water but insulin.

Diabetics need it and the US drug companies keep increasing the price.

5 years ago insulin cost US$60 for one month use.

How much do you think they increase the price today?

US$100? 200? 300? 400? 500? 600? 700? 800?

Nope US$1000 a month.

People that cannot afford it are now dying in USA.

Hong Kong people no hope one.

I am not saying HK people are hopeless but they see their future no hope one.

That is why they go on the streets. Its a last ditch attempt to save themselves from a hopeless existence.

Hong Kong is an island and as we all know the sea is rising and in 30 or 50 years they will be under water.

So now they cannot buy a home and will be paying rent for 50 years to make property developers even more filthy richer.

And after 50 years of working like slaves they will drown.

All this is bad but its not the thing that drive them onto the streets.

Its the unbearable thought that the communist will control every aspect of their lives to control them and subject them to a life of total and absolute control.

With the social credit system when you might not be not able to buy a train or airplane ticket because you bad mouth the communist.

Would you want to pay rent for 50 years and be subject to total and absolute control like that?

Enslaved for 50 years and then die?

Might as well die now.

😀

But the brave Hong Kong people are not jumping off the roof tops.

They are taking to the streets to try to change their fate.

That to me is bravery and the Cathay CEO resigning that to me is integrity.

Out of a bad situation we see some of the bravest things and the best of humanity.

The protests seem to be never-ending.  It has gotten to a stage whereby the "citizens" will issue press statement or hold press conferences.

And students are protesting too.

The world will be underwater soon.

Just let the Hong Kong people do what they want lah.

China leaders have not thought about this yet but the rising oceans will affect a few hundred million mainlanders.

They need to focus on how to help their own people going under water.

😀

No need to worry about 7 million in HK when they need to focus on their own few hundred million.

Already lost 90% of interest in the self-destructing HK saga.

Just planning 10 years later can fly in to Shenzhen for holiday, then take a short day trip to HK for cheap massage and take photo of slums, but cannot stay out too late cos will be highest crime rate in China.

HKPF so good in whacking ppl.  You think crime rate will be high meh?

We must be mindful that if China can pull off HK saga without much damage to Beijing, we will be in deep shit.

Maybe the first order by the independent inquiry committee should be to suspend the whole HKPF from duties while they are investigating?

This will definitely stopped all police brutality immediately and the protesters can carry on their protests peacefully without interventions.

Keep this nonsense up and property prices fall to half and then they know.

😀

Maybe even less than half.

Then they see lah then they see.

How happy will people be if property price collapse?

When it falls I will be laughing.

I am sure mainlanders want to buy condos in HK

also now scared to invest in HK property.

😀

See what happens lah if mainlanders don't come and buy their condos

and don't take up their jobs and don't buy their car parking lots.

Empty condos and empty parking lots.

Then who will suffer? The people of HK lah.

They will suffer.

Good protest more lah.

I see HK as China Sentosa eventually.  A place to relax but no more the CBD once upon a time. These rioters have sped up this process. It is coming but they were just sleeping like taiwan. Maybe they can blame US and Britain who keep giving them the wrong idea. But ultimately,  HKers must be held accountable for their own.

This interview reflects something singaporeans can understand and visualise if we continue the same direction.  However, he didn't consider why and how they came to this stage which didn't happen overnight.  So, what is required to change? Via riots? Run to the west and let some fellow HKers shed blood? All these actions will further push HK down in my opinion. By working with china, they have a future singapore will envy because we don't have the same.
