With Pochettino sacked as Spurs boss, Liverpool could swoop in for Son Heung-Min who was wanted by the Reds before his move to England.

On Tuesday evening footballs fans around the world came to a standstill. News had spread that Tottenham have sacked their boss Mauricio Pochettino. And with that news Liverpool fans around the world perked up. Perhaps somewhere in the boardroom at Anfield officials listened intently too.

The Argentine’s departure from Tottenham heralds a great period of uncertainty at the already struggling London club and despite Mourinho’s arrival, with January imminent some of Spurs’ star players may be on the look out for a move away from the club. While the Portuguese may try to offload some of his men and replace them with his own players.

According to Fox Sports Son Heung-Min could be one of those players with the site reporting that Son would be willing to depart Tottenham if Pochettino was to leave the club. With that now having come to fruition speculation and doubt will be raised about the South Korean’s future.

And with Liverpool having previously shown interest in Son according to ESPN via Bild prior to his move to Tottenham in 2015 it is a possibility that the Reds could make an ambitious offer for his services.

With Liverpool’s new Nike deal and the added revenue and advertising which will come from it, Son could be the perfect marketing tool to target the Asian market and help the Reds grow their reputation worldwide.

Additionally Son’s pace and electric direct style is the ideal fit for Liverpool’s team. His pressing and persistent energy is just what Jurgen Klopp looks for in his players and he could form a great partnership with Liverpool’s dynamic front three in Salah, Firmino and Mane.

Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting with huge excitement to something Timo Werner said recently, which seemed to imply he would be the perfect deputy for Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp’s transformation of Firmino into the ultimate ‘false 9’ has been extremely enjoyable to watch, and Reds fans suspect Werner might be next in line for similar treatment.

The German striker has been linked with a switch to Anfield recently, but for any striker to come and compete with Firmino for a place, they need to be able to do more than just score goals.

Werner has bagged a remarkable 12 goals in 12 Bundesliga showings this season, but it is his latest comment that has really caught the attention of the Anfield faithful.

“(Julian) Nagelsmann has said that I won’t be playing as an out and out striker for him as such, but more of a false 9,” he said, per One Football.

Firmino is well-known for his tendency to drop deep into space, drag centre-backs out of position and supply chances for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, so the fact that Werner is doing this while also scoring plenty of goals is surely a good sign for those who want to see the 23 year-old on Merseyside.

Next season Liverpool

should get Son and Timo Werner.

Son can cover for Mane and Salah

and Werner can cover for Firmino

and play in front of Firmino as well.

TAA performance was not good to say the least and looked lethargy. Maybe let the newer youngster to fill that  role to put pressure on him.

No salah to provide cover.

I feel zaha with the ball is faster than taa without. Really a talent.

Every match I like to identify opp player who is good enough for pool system. Zaha is def a good player. Not sure why gunners went for his international team mate pepe.

Good to get 3 points despite an underwhelming performance yesterday for the first of the 12 games in a 37 day period.

Upside is that the belief in the team is high. The team is able to cruise after taking a lead and yet able to step up fire power suddenly to swing the game back. Many will say that Firminho goal was lucky. Yes indeed. The sudden surge of the team shocked and pushed palace too deep into their own box for their own good.

Downside is the team continue to work hard for the 3 pts which is not the most ideal for upcoming fixture congestion.

Glad that Fabinho got an Yellow card allowing him to go all out in the next game against Napoli. A good result against Napoli will ensure progress and soften the impact of the fixture pile up. Klopp can use next UCL away game against Salzburg for some rotation to rest some legs for the crazy world club cup and league cup games. If we can get over that period while keeping casualties to a minimum, the festive period should be manageable. The impact of this pile up will probably show up from January to March. Klopp will need to continue to rotate his squad.

Son is at an age where he is peaking in form but will JM sell one of Spurs' beloved to Liverpool? I would love to witness such a transfer but doubt it will happen. Why so?

- JM will distance himself from Spurs' fans if he sells their prized asset to Liverpool - one of Spurs' rivals to UCL spot.

- Liverpool seems more interested to buy upcoming players and unlikely to invest too much to buy Son even though he fits Liverpool's style - low ROI if our front 3 remains as the preferred partnership.

- JM has mellowed and become more humbled as observed in his recent interviews (hopefully). He waited for Son and Alli to walk off the pitch; celebrated his first win as Spurs manager with almost every Spurs player following their nervy win - displaying Kloop-alike treatment. JM is more keen to keep his assets and try to convince them of his influence - which is what Levy wanted to preserve and prevent an exodus of his current squad.

Will be happy if Son joins us, but will remain neutral even if he doesn't.

no way lah... why will these 2 established stars forsake their starting positions in their respective teams and play as backup players... not as though they are 19/20 year old youngsters

anyway Liverpool should strengthen the midfield, not the front
