Liverpool almost had a clean sweep of the BBC’s footballing awards this year – with Jordan Henderson named Player of the Year, Trent Alexander-Arnold winning the Young Player of the Year award and seven players making their Team of the Season.

The seven Reds named in the Team of the Year were Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent, Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The only real issue I take with this team of the season has to be Bruno Fernandes.. no doubt a very good and bright player but he has not even played 10 games for Utd in this season. How come that be allowed for him to be considered for the team of season..

Aguero is good but this is hardly his best season...  CFs like Vardy, Aubameyang are ahead of him in the goal scoring chart...

Henderson as the player of the season is also gonna come under scrutiny...

Yup should be 4 2 3 1 with Vardy and his 19 goals at the head of the spear.

And VVD is far ahead of Hendo.

Actually, VVD won't be that deserving of the player of the season. His performance are still good but it is actually less impressive compared to last year.

Given that he has already won it last year, I do not mind giving it to Henderson.  But, this choice is still largely debated by football plundits...

Got this article from the net.

The boss has spoken

Jurgen Klopp has laughed at the suggestion that the Premier League season should have been rendered ‘null and void’.

Numerous media, many supporters of clubs whose season isn’t going well, and even some within football itself had suggested that the 2019/20 campaign be ‘voided’ and wiped from the history books – despite it being over three-quarters complete.

It was a ridiculous suggestion, and one which thankfully we know cannot happen due to UEFA, the FA, the Premier League and almost everyone with a sensible mind saying so.

But, asked about it, Klopp had an as ever excellent response, quoted as saying at a talk to the German Football Academy:

“There was talk that people wanted to declare the season null and void. So you thought: ‘Huh? We have played 76 percent of the season and you just want to delete the thing?’

“That would have been something that I personally would find unfair, to just say that it didn’t happen.

“We are first in the home table, we are first in the away table. It is a season in which we should become champions.”

There was another setback for the ‘null and void brigade’ on Monday, as the Premier League approved a move to allow clubs to return to small-group training this week.

The next step will be setting a date for the return of the 2019/20 season, expected to be either June 12 or 19.

Thankfully, we know that however this season now ends, Liverpool will be champions – assuming that they get the six more points they require or the table is decided on points per game.

Klopp addressed those saying that football should not be returning at this time, accurately pointing out that “dealing with the crisis is the most important thing.

“But that doesn’t mean that certain things are of no importance at all just because they are less important.

“I think there are worse things in life than not becoming champions. A lot of people around us have big problems.”

With football returning in Klopp’s homeland already, the manager again makes a salient point, saying:

“People say: ‘How can you think about football, in moments when people are dying out there?’ Nobody does that, but like every other branch of business, we have to prepare for the time afterwards, because it will come of course.

“When it comes to football, that means that we will start training at some point and to make sure everyone is safe, unique measures are taken.

“As they were made in Germany, they are now being taken in England. The training centers of the English professional clubs will be the safest. There are no places to be infected at all.”

Aguero is looking aged. I had him in my FPL team and it was a great disappointment this season. It doesn't help that Pep likes to tinker with his team just like a former OT manager and currently at Spurs.

We need him as Salah and Mane will be away for 6 weeks during AFCON

He is leaving on a free for a reason... never to regain the heights of the WC winning form... I doubt Klopp would take him back.. he will be so far below the specking order for the forwards.

it is the likes of Timo or Sancho which will excite fans.. not another mario...
