The pressure of Pool winning against Leicester got to Man City and they cracked.

I notice City only play well when teams are afraid of them and sit back and defend.

When teams have a go and attack them City crumble like Apple Crumble.

They just cannot take it and melt like butter on a hot knife.

Just like how Norwich and now Wolves take the game to them.

More small teams should do the same.

Scared scared and City will slaughter you, fight them and you can beat them.

:D

You are right. The similarity between Norwich and Wolves are quite the same. Before this match, I didn't think Adama Traore of wolve is such a cool scorer.

Traore is a Barcelona youth team player.

He knows exactly how Pep will set his team up and how to attack them.

Yup he is known more for his lightning speed and strength and NES added cool finishing to his game.

I was surprised to see how cool he was when he scored...especially the 2nd one.

The game plan is pretty much like Norwich actually. Modified 4-4-2 with front 2 higher up to prevent the MC midfield from having opportunity from bombarding through balls for their forwards. Wolves counter attacking higher up allow better chance on breaks - hence the 2 goals on the second half do not come as a surprise. Just my 2c lol

And the funniest thing is Steve Bruce criticised Rafa Benitez for playing 343 as too defensive and said he was was gong to play more attractive football before getting thrashed 5-0 at Leicester.

This week he copied Rafa's 343 and won against Man United.

He should STFU and not criticise Rafa to try to be more popular with the Magpie fans.

I hope he learnt his lesson criticising a Newcastle fans favourite as well as a Liverpool fans favourite.

Rafa has won more trophies than Bruce ever will as a manager.

Turbocharged

Lovely start to the week.

First, we bring out a win versus a very combative Leicester side.

Next is a loss by ManC, at home some more (unexpectedly).

YNWA.

2-1 doesn't tell the story of the game.

It should have been 4-0.

:D

FiveThirtyEight scored the chances from this match at 4.4 expected goals to Liverpool and 0.1 to Leicester, which (while certainly not definitive) suggests that a 4-0 home win might have been a fairer outcome.

But we’re choosing to ignore the penalty out of interest, don’t forget. Even if we subtract Milner’s winner from Liverpool’s xG score, this game was still in FiveThirtyEight’s 130 most one sided matches in their database of over 14,000 games from 18 different leagues across the last three years. Include the penalty, because it was a penalty, and this game is ranked 36th for a team most deserving to win.
