Everyone is jumping onto the stupid cinematic wide screen ratio for the dash display... I wonder how it affects usability especially when it comes to navigation where a taller screen will show more of the map... easier for making decisions especially when you're not familiar with the roads...

Really? Taller screen shows more?

Let me show you both.

classic case of you dunno what you dunno but if dunno dun anyhow pom lah

More of the “stupid cinematic wide screen ratio for the dash display”

does it affect usability especially when it comes to navigation?

Will a taller screen (presumably from an upright phone) show MORE of the map, this making decision making easier?

Answer to both questions is NO!

Automotive Engineers and software Engineers are more intelligent than you think!

Help me understand.

Sorento have good low end torque which I believe will kind of negate its weight.

But the century sprint is slightly above 9sec. Where did all the 200hp and 440Nm go?

Sorry... I wasn't clear enough... what I meant was landscape orientation but with greater height... akin to the iPad using a 3:2 ratio versus Android phones using 18.5/19/21:9 aspect ratios.... I certainly didn't mean portrait orientation... you're interpreting 'taller screen' as portrait orientation bro...

I find using Google Maps on my phone in landscape mode showing far less useful information when navigating... I use a Samsung Note 8 with 16:9 ratio...

Sometimes paper spec is not everything

another important thing is gearbox.
if u compare skoda superb 2.0 with lexus IS, both same engine but IS produce more output but acceleration about the same yet IS much smaller

Agreed.

DSG gearbox shift is every quick and older GB like mine is quite retarded with it's 6sp.
