Wonder why the skyline engines did not flow to the infinity range.

That would help keep the R&D cost low and make the availability of engine parts reasonably large.

Of course with the new emission law world wide, it may no longer be applicable to fixed to one engine and evolved and improved along the way.

Which Skyline engine? The 3.6l V6 turbo used in GTR? That is a pretty old engine and is hand-built (1 man 1 engine) in their main plant... cannot scale production.

Actually a few years ago Infiniti already released a highly rated new 3.0l V6 twin turbo in 300BHP and 400BHP tunes.

And the VC-T 2.0l turbo was to replace the use of Merc 2.0T engine in their lineup.

However, most USA reviews state that the VC-T engine has very disappointing real world fuel economy - although its marketing states improved fuel consumption.

Infiniti is doing badly worldwide, this month close shop in Australia, last year close shop in Europe. I don't think I dare to invest in an Infiiniti car with the current state of Infiniti and Nissan.
