After much reading actually the AD workshop tick all the right boxes.

They replaced the mirrors with new ones. Check.

Tried to go beyond and used magic sauce. Check.

Feedback to HQ. check.

Only thing is that they arenât mirror fixing people. If you ask them change oil change filter change car parts... no doubt they can do it but fix mirror thatâs affected by weather....LoL no wonder they put the blame on weather.

I also cannot fix foggy mirrors to be honest. Just so happen to know what is available online. I dunno whether how much of the film will work. Just donât complain to me if it doesnât work. LoL...

Actually people are hard to please. So many thank less jobs out there. Give people a chance to help you ok? Donât be so hard on them. Good luck.

I notice the glass of both the window and mirror are not made of high density glass , the water repelling property seems poor, can see quite poor surface tension on both the mirror and the window.

Next time those who want to buy Porsche need to set aside additional 100k for lawyer fees and travel expenses.

Quite true , my legal bills for my small case with them was about 130 k , dragged for about 2 years .

ok now i get why you said you prefer to do things yourself ... comprehension a bit lacking but thats ok ... i can see why you'd be the only person ive ever heard of willing to drop 4-5 figures to repair something under warranty ...

also, considering they couldnt fix the aircon the first 2 times, nor did they catch the coolant leak the first time (even when explicitly told so), then i can only bring a horse to water ... not to mention that they let slip they, in reality, didnt know how to fix it, thereby acknowledging there was indeed a problem ... (unless this part of your comprehension has failed too)

mind if i ask what your issue was about?

1st issue - perpetually fogged up side-mirror, actually just replace the entire assembly - mirror glass, side housing, assorted electronics etc. Cannot work replace again - am sure it will resolve eventually.

2nd issue - coolant suddenly gone - apprentice in ah beng workshop also will know sure got somewhere leaking, esp german makes is famous for leaky cooling - how the workshop can just top up and say nothing wrong is beyond apprehension.

3rd issue - broken side door glass... maybe bad glass batch with micro-fault lines already in glass - replace one time with different batch probably can perm fix.

Anyway TEK continuing its proud tradition of poor after-sales service.... I know of die-hard Mazda owner who refuses to get another Mazda due to experience with TEK.

you know, my request, which fell on deaf ears, was to tell them to replace the entire housing but the flatly refused 3-4 times (as i believe porsche germany said its working as per diagnostics and they wouldnt cover any warranty on it) the fact that other macans and even their cayennes exhibited no such behaviour says alot. i would absolutely not waste my time if i thought this was a normal issue. thats why i tried to find my own solutions first but nothing worked.

2nd issue ... yes agree ... the coolant was literally at 0. kosong. not a drop. after hoisting up, opening bonnet, said there were no cracks, i should carry on. i was like ... really guys? really?

(the ecu issue related to cruise control and ABS/ESP btw, took them 2 months to get around to fixing ...)

as for the window, its not the glass thats broken, but the clips internally. i can only assume it holds the glass upright or something and when it broke, thats why the window couldnt go up (or a part of it was causing enough friction to prevent the window from automatically going up). whatever the case, it took them 3 days just to fix the passenger side clip/window issue ...

some of my die hard porsche friends cant even believe what im going through (until i showed a few the actual emails / messages). it felt more like im being told im a moron more than anything else ...

i guess when they cant fix it, just obfuscate until the customer also blur

You should have got bmw suv. Hell even the Alfa suv doesn't act up like this.

Seriously, ask for 1 to 1 replacement

The point is not the car, but the dealer

brother .. when you buy a brand new car that is advertised with 5 year warranty and 5 year servicing included, why would you pay more money when you have already paid for the said service?

gtr - simple enough ... not a practical car to drive, after being a dad. if i drive the gtr to work, my wife goes out with baby and ask me to pick her up, meaning i need to go home, change car again, go back and pick them up?

why should i go to an aircon contractor when the car is under warranty?

are you saying if your iphone under warranty, to be repaired for free, you will rather bring to ah beng shop and spend $200+?

Rileks Bro he lich got lots of plastics can de solve problem.. Edited by BenTong

I dont know if their mechanics are really so poorly skill up to perform such problem isolation, or they really have a serious service attitude problem, letting alone the amount of downtime everytime the car has to be left in the workshop. This is not acceptable considering this being a premium brand. I dont know how they deal with those who drive those above half a MIL dollar models, or how easily to deal with the wealthy people, I am sure not all of them are as kind and patience as TS is.

sounds like the problem is the warranty, as someone mentioned: if they can't get factory to agree to the necessary repairs they won't do it unless they willing to pay out of pocket to keep your goodwill.

if you offer to pay them to fix, you see how fast they say "no problem, just change all these parts..."

He bought new, the warranty already priced in. AD should honor it.

Try to read what else happened to the car and then make comments and the attitude that they presented which imo is totally uncalled for

If you have not, then suggest you stfu as your opinions reek of an inability to see the big picture

@sp4wn is aldy the most patient bloke I know and If it were me I would have burnt the damn macan down

Sure anot at most u sell the macan and get ghilbi hehehe

What's the fuss about? If me I will just get the water resistant film and DIY, solve the problem. For me I wont wait for incompetent ppl to get things done. I do it myself if I'm faced with the same situation. This is nothing to me.

film1.jpg film2.jpg

The glorified vw parts are engineered by the vw but produced in mexico. I will just get a made in china water resistent film that cost like nothing to solve the problem. Wait for competent ppl to get things done still ok. Wait for incompetent ppl to get things done...once I get to know they are useless in getting things done, I will find my own solution. Still wait for them to "investigate"....Pui!...as if they will work on it. They just park your car there and do nothing. This kinda thing fto them is can't earn a single cent. Why should they bother? They dont drive the car.

This film sticker is fugly, how dare u suggest this thingy to be paste into macan lol
