Interesting that many have no fear be it Govt coming up with news of measure in the event of a Recession or the fact that more structure losses is on the cards.

Everyone seems to be very resilient when it comes to riding the economy.

I supposed if you need it, you would be buying it either way.. sort of like everything like fridge or washing machine.

Went to few showrooms this Saturday afternoon. Very quiet including Borneo motors. Showrooms only got SE and 1-2 families viewing cars. No need to wait for test drive at any showroom. (Not sure about Mazda, didnt go)

Seems COE will go up this round given 3 weeks and quota reduced but eventually it will be down in coming rounds due to low demand. If Major AD quiet like this on weekends then coe cant keep going up.

Maybe This year CAT-A will remain between 20-30K and CAT-B 30-35K

If it goes up, they will say all the sales were committed the past 2 weekends.

When it goes down, reason will be due to the 7th month.

suka they say one....

I will say till Dec 2019 will drop for all CATs.

More buyers are buying renewed COE cars, there are a lot of attractive models reaching 10years and they are just too attractive, cost effective and worth bang for buck..

I think it will go up in Aug. All the unfulfilled orders in the past few biddings + all the new orders to be fulfilled in these 3 weeks. Sep will stay up then maybe Oct will go down. But rmb, quota decrease in 2020.

Likely for quota to drop further in Nov-Jan.

The biggest model launch was Avante last year, this is the best seller across all segments for some time. Zero effect on COE. Newspaper car writers are morons.

Not many people at showroom on this last weekend before coe bidding on wed? Maybe most ADs already increased their car price, thats why doesnt attract many customers? Edited by 13177

Yeah, I noticed most ADs increased their prices for this weekend. They must have clocked in sufficient orders to spread out over the next 1-2 bids in the past 2 weekends since the 2nd July COE bid, at least more than the quota for this Wed, thus can afford to increase price.

Could be the reason if few AD has increased last weekend price before bidding. But it seems coe will come back to recent low level  after 2-3 rounds . its happening same trend since last year. So buyer may be waiting for that drop again before jumping in. Now SE fear tactics no more working if buyer is aware about recent trend of up-down after every 2-3 rounds.

On a side note where some AD have increased their price, Borneo is giving Altis free upgrade from standard to elegance model.

Demand is weak, lets see how reduced quota impact the trend in next few rounds.

COE sure go up this round. Because we had 2 good weeks of sales before the string of bad news last week.

last week trump at it again, HK impossible situation and China economy struggling...

Cat a and b 30k and 43k and then should be hard to go up already looking at all the shitty news over the past week. Once again, just look at Singapore stock market for a good indication

Mazda high tech, more modern, and Altis out of fashion but reliable and easier to maintain.

Altis give unlimited 5 year warranty, Mazda can be 5year with limited 140k Milege.

Altis spacious than Mazda.
