Realistically speaking, to qualify for 2034 WC, the players would be the students in primary schools now. How many primary schools have good soccer programs in place, or even a soccer CCA with a full sized field? Most of the primary schools I walked by only have a half sized field.

Maybe sg can have a different model for wc qualification. A country that does not need its own league. Train the boys in sports schools, send them for annual attachments to good clubs worldwide, give them at least a diploma while doing that. Ns exemption. If by 23 they don't cut it they're out the door with a qualification and job lobang. No need for a low quality league no one watches.

A bit tough ah. If the boys become successful the clubs may not be willing to release them for international duty.

Need something to make the boys still have some attachment to here.

Setting a new target of 2034 which all of us know will be pushed to infinity and beyond just allow those in charge to have cushy jobs for another decade or more.

Don't waste time, money (especially our taxpayers' money) on these frivolous (and mostly will fail again given proven records) pursuits.  Let local football die a natural death.  No one will even notice.

At least gct willing to attend as guest of honour. If let's say is invite pm Lee.. Will he just push it aside and without a blink of an eye and say no or Will he say yes?

I guess that's the difference..

Talk Big Doesn't Cost $$$$$ :ignoring:

Ya, they should aim bigger. Like Fandi's younger son who went Norway. Or that chap who went to Japan.

how many of the parents of those primary school boys willing to  let their kids be a pro soccer players?

there is only 2 types from both extreme,

those extremely well to do, their wealth can feed a few lifetime, they can afford to let their son chase their dreams, any dream.

or those in extreme poverty, family struggling, if straight after sec school, the son can bring in some money, they dun mind at all.

or they dun even care what their son is doing outside.

if we give special treatment to soccer, then what about other sports,

(but there is no need to talk about this anymore,)

I saw stats of yemen game. Sg surprisingly can dominate a mid-east team. Hopefully it's a new level of confidence.

It’s a young Yemen team with not too tall players. The Lions dominated the first 30 mins...lots of chances created but shot blank.

The new Japanese coach seems to play to the players strength with more short passes and running into positions in group of 3-4 during an advance. Hardly saw the old dreaded long bump into opponent half to only gave possession away.

Singapore wins Palestine 2-1!! We are 1 step closer to World Cup!!! Yeh!!!

There are still SA and Uzbekistan to beat in the group.

Ironically, Uzbe could beat China, NK, Syria, Qatar but lost to Palestine...

Under-16 AFC Championship. Lost to Hong Kong 2-1, then lost to North Korea 6-1. All at HOME GROUND Jalan Besar stadium. Is it our diet? Our water? Or the strawberry generation just too comfortable?
