Elderly man killed by falling wine bottle at condo

Read that the residents interviewed, commented that it's not going to be easy to trace the killer, as they said residents have been told all along not to throw glass bottles into the rubbish chute, to avoid glass breaking into shards. Rather, they have been advised to leave empty glass bottles outside the units somewhere, presumably for pick-up by cleaners...

I believe there will be recycling bins for glass / plastic bottles at the void deck or something. When going to the car park, can just bring along and dispose inside the recycling bin. Leaving rubbish or unwanted items outside own unit is like inviting trouble.

Apparently there's rubbish chute on every floor (presumably in the common area, maybe near lift lobby). Maybe that's where the residents need to throw their rubbish, instead of within the units...

And they have been told to not throw glass bottles inside, but rather leave them next to the rubbish chute.

Indeed if there are lots of drinkers, this is a recipe for disaster... [sweatdrop]

Residents also said that it would be difficult to identify the culprit even if the police checked the bottle for fingerprints.

Glass bottles are often left next to the rubbish chute on every floor, as the building's management had asked residents to do so to prevent glass shattering in the chute.

"Someone could have taken a bottle from near the chute and dropped it, but the original owner's fingerprints would still be on it," a woman in her 30s said yesterday.

Residents had complained about high-rise littering, she added, but they were mainly about small items like cigarette butts.

Just reported caught. Am curious how they managed to pinpoint him.

Am impressed that the Police managed to do it. Good job!

And for causing someone his life, this bugger should be jailed long long. But i suspect more is just a small fine... 😤

Not trying to be biased, but many at times, these Foreign talents bring their own countries’ culture to Singapore. Bring good culture over, still never mind, but they bring over all their nonsense culture and manners, and like maggots, mess up all the efforts that this country took decades to build, from third world to first world from scratch!
