Trigger Finger suspected

The GP suspected that i have trigger finger on my last finger.

I kind of sprained my joint (at the palm area) of my last finger.  The GP explained its the tendon that is affected.  He mentioned "A1 pulley"

I want to know if TCM can help?  Any recommendation?

The GP gave me med but i feel TCM could be a better treatment option for such sprain cases.

Every morning when i wake up, it will be v painful if i move the finger.  it has a little swelling, but not obvious.  I thought it's Gout but GP dismissed it.

The pain is only on that joint.

Unlikely.

But if u have mild trigger finger, the symptoms will come and go. Until it becomes persistent.

Anti-inflammatory medications help but just relieve. As it progresses, it will become a physical obstruction.

I think tui nah works. Have to visit the place opposite sub courts. Or where the red star restaurant is. I think it's Chin Swee Rd. Ground floor. A lot to choose from.

i am not so sure TCM will work, tui na is not for join but acupuncture might help a bit.

i had trigger fingers on 2 fingers of both hand, painful in the morning cos you dun move it at night, when straighten cannot bend, when bend cannot straighten. Like what lala said, it will come and go, take 2-3 weeks to go away, anti-inflammatory will definitely help and maybe take Turmeric (with ginger) powder might help in long term.

Surprisingly it has been more than 4-5 years i last had one.

From my experience, acupuncture can help to reduce inflammation and manage pain better without resorting to drugs. Even the US military is using it to treat combat injuries.

If you need recommendation, PM me. He is a specialist, teacher of TCM, so not cheap.

For me medication, cream, lotion, massage all didn’t help...

An injection did. Took half a year to fully recover.

Nowadays, I hold the hp in various ways with short intervals to prevent an occurrence...stop using the hp back panel ring for the time being...

AS as in ankylosing spondylitis? Was told that it requires long-term medication like sulfasazine which is not recommended if the patient is planning for a family. I think partly got to do with genes as well, heredity.

The last I went I cant remember the name of the clinic. It's just level one of the redstar restaurant. The address I Googled is 54 Chin Swee Road. All glass panel clinic. The physician worked on my son's elbow. From cannot move and bend to no more pain. Quite amazing cos he worked on the other hand instead of the injured elbow. I even reminded him it's the other elbow. But he asked me to be patient. Amazingly what he did works. Me: Dumbfounded.

Cannot miss. The place has all sorts of TCM clinic. His clinic is all glass wan.

I had trigger finger on my middle finger, went to visit an orthopaedic. Had a very painful steroids injection which fixed the problem for the next 6months. It came back again and doc recommended physiotherapy. Did it for about 5-6 sessions, improve abit but didn't really work.

Eventually did surgery after I insisted. The inflammation was so bad the doc said it was the right decision to do the surgery. Usually people have a nodule on the tendon, but my entire tendon was covered with pink inflamed tissue.

My case was quite bad as I couldnt even clench my finger. I have to learn how to write and use chopsticks with my left hand.

There's steroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines.

Both can help depending on your presentation.

Short courses, most people should have no/minimal problems.
