Found stats on real fuel consumptions by makes and models:

In average you must add approx 20% to manufacturers figure to get real one 😅

But there are notable differences between carmakers, generally, Chrysler is only one with greens in both petrol and diesel segments.

Looks like those mainstream premium continental brands have been understating their vehicles fuel consumption.

Or they make their vehicles fuel consumption look overtly optimistic in theory.

COE , car price, ERP are so expensive, can afford to drive good enough, dont bother about fuel consumption.

Fuel consumption depends on the driver and traffic conditions.

I captured this shot on my XC60 T6 (AWD) ~30 Km after refueling. Going by the info on the display, it can do 16.76Km/L (1160 + 30Km divided by my tank size of 71L)! Now who will say Volvo or AWD jiak you? :D

BUT hor that was because I put it in eco mode (with aircon on), which took away the fun of driving this engaging SUV. From this log, it can even do up to 20Km/L.

Normal driving in Comfort mode is more like this.

They measure the fuel consumption under laboratory rolling road conditions and not real world conditions. No wind resistance, no hills, no undulations, no cyclists/pedestrians that make one brake suddenly then speed up.

No spare tyre, likely no aircon  also

But your TA says otherwise! You have 7.0 litre /100 km, 8.2 litre/100 km.

Oh yes indeed! The rollers are oh so smooth, and those test drivers not carrying any handphone, wallet and keys, and probably not wearing underwear.😅😅
