I have watched this footage, found the location on google street view and the path it has taken (along SAF Changi Ferry Terminal and CAFHI jetty). I can deduce this Lancer lost traction during the speed stripes beside the bus stop.

Were the speed stripes on a bend or straight road? Must be step accelerator on those speed stripes, either got sand or oil on it..

Those who go for advanced driving course know that you don't step accelerator on a chicane

That entire stretch is a gradual bend. On the video on slow mo or pause/play, can see the Lancer's rear already lost traction at the end of the stripes.

80 year old still have valid licence to drive? Thought there is age limit.. Once hit certain age, the driving licence will not longer be valid right?

not long ago there's a 80 or 85 yrs old notorious for driving stunts in his Jag F-Type wor..

Lift off prior to enter chicane.

Once enter full throttle.

Disagree

Not to say I recommend a full on sports car, but something slightly sport with better handling in safer.

Even your most basic B&B car can quickly hit dangerous speeds.

Something a slightly sporty is going to corner, brake, avoid and accelerate out of trouble better.  Something more nimble that stops faster is safer

It would cost alot more for a Slightly Sporty Car...& again a Slightly Sporty Car will have a even more Powerful Engine...it will be worse if it is in the wrong Hands of a Reckless Driver.

Turbo kicked in leh!

It may have lower power but even if it takes an hour to reach 100 kph, the Qashqai can.. then it's all on the driver to control the car, brake and steer correctly and then get it right.

If you take your eyes off the road, jerk or swivel when driving at high speeds, any car can mount the kerb... but SUVs do have a higher CG..

Basically its driver issue. A safe driver can be given a mclaren to drive and wont crash

but bad driver with kelisa will go mount kerb lol

Take note this traffic light is beside a primary school

There are too many drivers now like to beat red light even at pedestrian crossing red light. The other day while i was crossing one pedestrian crossing, saw one taxi beat the red light! Lucky no one start to cross yet!
