Hmmmm.... why no one starts thread on Euro 2020 Championship. :slow:

Let me starts .... :a-happy:

Sancho, Sterling proving to be England's greatest strength; defensive questions persist

SOUTHAMPTON, England -- It should come as no surprise that a national team whose sole World Cup success (1966) was achieved by a side known as the "Wingless Wonders" have often struggled to find room for creative wide players. England's 5-3 victory over Kosovo in Euro 2020 qualifying Tuesday showed that is no longer the case.

England have never lacked archetypal players -- the gallant centre-back, the tireless box-to-box midfielder, the bruising centre-forward -- but with occasional notable exceptions (Stanley Matthews and Tom Finney in the 1940s and 1950s, John Barnes and Chris Waddle in the 1980s), slippery wingers have rarely been one of their calling cards.

England showing they have a strong young team esp upfront where Sterling and Kane are in impressive form and 1 from Sancho or Rashford makes them a front 3 to be feared. Its the defence which is not up to mark and could be their downfall. Keane had a nightmare match last night and this affected the normally reliable Maguire as well.

The midfield with Rice as anchor and workhorse Henderson seems settled but they do need a creator if possible but England doesn't have this kind of player so instead rely on Barkley who is more of a player who can make good runs with the ball but he is inconsistent. Maybe Mount or Maddison would be a better choice?

mount got alot of potential, a new golden generation of england players is coming, but can they live up to the hype or not is another thing.

Think he played last night but not the match at the weekend.

England got a lot of options at RB, TAA, Walker, Trippier so whoever in form will get the slot.

Play from home lo....on the PS4.

I think Tokyo 2020 will be sama sama.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/commentary/covid-19-coronavirus-olympics-2020-tokyo-cancel-postpone-prepare-12542624

"Commentary: Maybe the Tokyo Olympics should be postponed"

Imagine the reprinting nightmare. Right now everywhere in Japan you see the "Tokyo 2020". If postponed will be "Tokyo 2021 or 2022". Have to reprint everything.

A lot of strong teams who could end up winners....

Portugal - Defending Champions

France- World Champions

Belgium - World ranking no. 1

England - “Home” team...will play all 7 games bar a quarter final at Wembley if they win their group

Italy - Unbeaten since Sept 2018 (run of 27 unbeaten games)

Germany - Always a threat in tournaments

Holland - The team most neutrals support due to their beautiful game ie the Brazil of European football

Spain - Home to 2 of the biggest clubs in World football but they have moved on from Tika-Taka possession based game

italy super dark horse. almost 0 stars in their team to speak of.

spain in home to 2 of the biggest team, but no real in the current spain side.

england as alway over hype. talk until all super stars, but when u watch them play is like sg kampong soccer. no flair to speak off, play ugly long ball and physical soccer only.
