This one is a Toyota Tank. (Doesn't look like one though)

Its a competitor to the Suzuki Solio.

Toyota Tank ! LOL!
What a name! :D
I think generally such model lasts only one or two cycles and the company discontinues its production.

Toyota always like to use weird badges on the front of their cars. :l

I've always thought the name is weird too. Then it occurred to me. When Toyota said "Tank", perhaps they meant fish tank. That shape does make me think of a fish tank..

Its an unusual and rare car for sure, not many were made. Interesting car though, the only FWD ever produced and powered by an Isuzu engine. Made possible by the vast resources of General Motors.

The one in you have captured should be the 1938 - 1939 Standard Flying Eight 2 Door Sedan, by Standard Motor Company (UK).

Not to be confused with the 1945 - 1948 Standard Eight. Can see the differences?

This Toyota Tank is not really rare on our shore. If you manage to sport any of its siblings and cousins, it will be RARE.

My favorite sport car in the late 80s - early 90s. IIRC the price was about $120K for the 1.6L turbo unit. Gotten a lift from someone then, very powerful but the cabin insulation seems not so good.

@Toeknee_33 there were 2 different engines, sourced from 2 different company. The 1.6L was from Isuzu while the 1.8L unit was from Kia (after Kia bought over the right to produce Elan under its brand). Talking about that, it also have many names...

Wow... Didn't know Justy become like this. I drove a Justy in 1999, for a few months. It was a company car, and the first auto car i drove. It also had a CVT, which I think was still uncommon at that time. The acceleration was slow, but smooth, very unlike other auto cars at that time:

other auto cars that my colleague drove, when changing gears upon acceleration, will feel the 'jerk' - if got a glass of water in the dashboard, confirmed will spill.

CVT: slow and steady, won't spill one... 🤣

That was also when i learnt i knew nothing about tyres... The company car was driven till the metal at the side of the tyres, already all became visible... I didn't know what it meant, and continued driving... and promptly experience a burst on CTE one Sat night... lucky wasn't going fast on left lane, and managed to stop safely...
