@camrysfe The Volvo 240 was built like a tank.  The headlamps made of glass and never fade to yellow like the plastics ones seen today.  The door hinges, bonnet hinges are beefy.  Solid sound when closing them.  It can easily swallow straight-6 engine since it has plenty of room in the engine bay.  However, the fuel economy is terrible, by any standard. 

In a few years, the total roadtax & insurance cost can exceed the price of the car in Malaysia.  My uncle eventually sold off his car to kedai potong (breaker yard) because it fetched better price than selling it as a car.

@Gnahp "Fake discs" does nothing but adding more unsprung weight.

Makes me wonder if the gauges are real, and working.  Maybe the gauges are cut-off soft-drink can, painted matt black. hahaha...

Sad to say a safest car with a not very safety in mind parents let the young children moving freely at the rear seat without belt up.

What a gem! This car is indeed worth at where it is, to be able to travel in comfort miles after miles of cruising in a country larger than our island!

Yes, some of the conditions of the old cars in msia are indeed good n smooth given their huge mileage. 

I m sure it's due to them having the miles to put these cars to gd use n maximise their purpose.
