Crater Lake

the deepest lake in USA - 1949 feet

it’s still an active volcano 🌋 inside and may potentially erupt once more ..

take the drive counter clockwise

its easier to turn into the viewing areas and take your photos

do note the southern  entrance is closing next week for winter

This car is equipped with CarPlay but it come in on and off

cable issues I suspect

the cup holders are too deep and narrow making it hard to pick up a larger cup

the middle armrest is narrow - small car issues..

but handling is wonderful 👍

Caught a glimpse of the new A class sedan

looks like a shrunken CLA, which looks like a smaller CLS ... so you can imagine the rear legroom isn’t too great ... but I can imagine them flying the lots ... sleek looks

One has to bear in mind that the distances are vast here and they are in miles! So plan ahead, sleep well and follow TSR. It’s important to rotate drivers to avoid fatigue which can be fatal.

Check when the sun sets, budget time for rests, meals and pee breaks

Also note that some areas have few gas stations and prices vary. Always keep a little spare in your tank. 87 Ron works ok and I just choose any brand.  Chevron is everywhere but the most expensive. The more remote the place is the more costly your gas. They mix in ethanol but that’s ok.

California is shutting power in rotating counties to reduce fire risks so if the power is down there are no lights and the fuel pumps don’t work. Speaking of pumps, in Oregon you have to let the attendant do the refueling.. it’s the law 😆

No attendants in Washington or California so it’s confusing and you might get tekan by the attendant ...

We did a ten hour drive today and it’s no mean feat. You are physically and mentally taxed.

We planned a nice dinner viewing the sunset when a massive fog stretching miles moved in

never seen anything like it

I’ve used fog lights before in UK and I’m ok driving in such conditions but visibility  was down man ..
