Mediacorp is producing period drama for the first time in 20 years. The story is set in the Ming Dynasty and based on the historical figure Li Shizhen. Out of the 30 episodes, 6 episodes is in the ancient setting. The production will fly to Hengdian to film in December, and slated for broadcast on Channel 8 in May 2020.

Mediacorp may produce full fledged period drama again if the response of this show is good.

So only 6 episodes is in the ancient setting? So the drama afterall still consider not a wuxia drama la?! Lol. Anyway, now mediacorp seems to have quite high budget when filming drama, cause they travel to overseas for filming and no more studio setting, example like houses. Now they uses real house for filming.

can watch 5 episodes at one go on mewatch.

mixed feelings about this, storyline muddled and slow (as usual) but good performances by Qi Yuwu and Cynthia Koh.

Already late.... The Chinese already produced such shows. The Americans obviously has their own. Even the Koreans also dabble into time travel with Rooftop Prince since aeons ago.

I find this drama storyline too draggy, only find the songs are nice.

ya, feel like they are just trying to stretch to 30 episodes with 12 episodes content.

Carrie Wong and Ya Hui are good actresses but totally wasted in this show.
