Why plastic straw bans aren’t the answer.

Ultimately the source of pollution is just human. The things human invented and created over hundred and hundred of years, not just plastic but also combustible engines and many more.

It is only in this era people starting to be more aware of the aftermath pollution caused but we aren't reacting fast enough globally because most countries still looked at the source "economically" in terms of $$$ over environment.

They are adaptive with the situation, which they didn't complain about the lack of plastic bag but they choose to adapt to it. That is smth I find it admirable. I need to start buying XXL t-shirt just in case I don't have a shopping bag. Hahhahahaha.

The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, which issued the new policy, said plastic bags will be banned in all of China's major cities by the end of 2020 and banned in all cities and towns in 2022. Markets selling fresh produce will be exempt from the ban until 2025.

Other items such as plastic utensils from takeaway food outlets and plastic courier packages will also be phased out.

Looks like nowadays, no one is complaining plastic is bad for the environment. Everyone using disposable plastic bags or containers to pack food.

And the increased production of disposable plastic PPE for the frontline healthcare workers.

Everyone forgot the once hated disposable plastics could be of help in the fight against Covid.
