At least the VRS Octavia had a 50 k discount from the gti

Tho mechanically it's supposed to be the same as the GTI. it didn't feel that way. The VAG pecking order is truly alive & well...

If they can cheat on emissions, what's a little tweak of a programming code to remind u that there's no such thing as a free lunch?

Err no it’s not the same engine .. it’s not a dual port injection for the VRS..

so the carbo build up is there unless u make some change’s

the build location where the cost adds up is also different.

It's using the same venerable VAG EA888 2.0 TSI engine. But to respect the fuhrer's pecking order, some aspects of it are dialed down. Couldn't put my finger on what it is but definitely felt a little less shiok than the GTI

It is the same EA888.3 engine.. the engine has a few configuration  EA888.3 EA888.3B n the latest is EA888evo .

even the GTI n R has different cylinder head although it’s EA8888.3

but if u ask owners who has test drive the gri n VRS where the puppy enthusiast was lost, it’s the bloody weight distribution that no one really look into .

if you can park the weight down n resort to the same balance of a sedan vs a hatch u will get the same drive .

so it’s not 100% engine related .

ecu wise is like AMD n intel chips as welll .

so you have to speak about the sum of all parts, not just the secret sauce part

That's what I mean by the pecking order. VAG tech & engineering ability is there on tap. But must apply in such a way not to upset the tai kor

SGCM should employ ACM's Arthur Wong. Love his reviews.

Speed Kaki

I'm a fan of Arthur too! Funny, witty, and a car enthusiast. You can literally feel his love for cars, especially Honda and all things JDM haha.

It's the familiar Honda Jazz, equipped with a hybrid drivetrain. You get a sizable boot, practical rear seats, and decent fuel economy to boot.

Do you like the new styling though? And at this price should you opt for other options? See what we think of the rest of the car here!

The Kia Cerato is back with an all new logo up front, and all new exterior sheet metal to back that badge up. On the inside, there's also a sporty looking yet practical interior and plenty of safety features, making it ideal for ferrying the family.

Watch the video to see what Julian thinks of the drive as he takes it out in the pouring rain! Or contact Cycle and Carriage Kia here to arrange for a test drive of the Kia Cerato and see just how well the car drives yourself!

great budget 1.6NA option for those still prefer proper AT instead of CVT/ IVT (which for those swear will never want to get CVT).. 🤣

Unfortunately, the 1.6t was not brought in

But I don’t like the park button (one more reason for something to fail - electronically … in the long ownership run).  Prefer the mechanical handbrake of the earlier models - it just gives positive, tactile feedback.

So … no more handbrake FWD drifts yah.  Hehe (just joking … not on a family saloon like this lah!).

2 saving graces (for me at least), are that it still retains the MPI Gamma engine (no GDI carbonization issues will always be good for me) and the ubiquitous 6-speed automatic (don’t like the CVT, which Hyundai’s latest Avante model had gone to).

The facelifted Jaguar F-PACE gets new exterior design touches and plenty of new tech on the inside as well. There's an intuitive infotainment system, good space for passengers, and decent pace from that 247bhp 2.0-litre engine.

Is that enough to make this new cat a great buy? Find out in our video review!

The Mercedes-Benz EQC comes with a new electro-look that sets it apart from the rest of the firm's SUV range. Couple that with an electric drivetrain that offers 402bhp, and all the comfort, space, and refinement you'd expect out of a Mercedes, and it already looks like quite the winner.

So why that glum face? You'll have to watch the video to find out!

Muscular looks, a comfortable drive, spacious interior, and decent punch from a right-sized 1.5-litre engine all feature in the Ssangyong Korando.

See just what else makes this Korean SUV great in our video review!
