There should be competitive environment for them to develop

Yes, but first we need to have THAT team. Competitive environment can be created or paid for, provided the team is up to standard.

With a non competitive team, simi environment also useless lah, kindergarten standard no need to think of taking O levels. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I know there is an amateur league running around for some years.

To be top in SEA, at least half of the team has to be playing in some competitive league in Thailand/Indonesia.

The amount of fund allocated to football, enough to form our own league. And if our current team is good enough, with enough prize money on the table, many teams in the region will be willing to fly here to play against our little kitties. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Really sad that our men's water polo team couldn't even get silver and end up with bronze only. Our proud tradition of more than half century is not only gone but well and truly beaten[:(]

At last!!! 1-0 to SG against Brunei.

1-0 mai too happy too early. Brunei loves goals, against other teams all give 6-7-8 goals, even Laos also hoot them 3-0, if SG only hoot 1 goal is kan hopeless liao...[laugh][laugh][laugh]

Looking at Timor Leste at the other group, even they managed to score two goals in this whole competition. If SG cant score more than them, they are really xia xuay.

And with 10 men Brunei now. Still cant score the second goal.

If against a full 11 men Brunei still cannot score at least 3 goals, is already xia suay liao, even can score 2  more against a 10 men team also nothing to meow about...

Totally agree!!!:a-m1212:

And if SEA GAMES also cannot even smell at least a bronze medal, thinking of world cup is just day dreaming if nothing is going to change.

If anyone is really interested in the future of local football, there need to be big changes in that environment and how they select players, otherwise dont waste time lor. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

But from now till 2030 still got about 10 years, if they start looking and develop from the pri  and sec schools, there may still be hope, provided they pick by merit and not by race or connection. [laugh]

Let's hope together :)
