SARS caused by Coronavirus.

MERS caused by Coronavirus

Wuhan Pneumonia caused by Coronavirus

To me, this is a more serious than Aussie Bushfire.

SARS is high lethality.

From all that has happened so far, this is a novel virus with human-human transmission BUT i don't think it's anywhere as lethal. Unless the chinese govt have been dumping corpses into the yellow river lol.

That 3 letters could cause panic, ptsd.. remember the economic impact in the region then?

Not a term to be used  loosely.

Still find it amazing the thing seem to go direct to HK and sg... skipping ALLLL the countless millions people and places in between.

If realllyyyyy no cover up...

My conclusion is eating Mala steamboat gives immunity to prc.. MOH Must set up compulsory mala steamboat treatment.

Or...

Our doctors all anyhow give MC...

For every one pneumonia case that presented to healthcare system, there is probably multiple cases of flu/cold symptoms in people who were less affected by the virus.

And presumably subclinical (asymptomatic) infections.

Not looking good. [:(]

In fact I think the super-spreader has already appears in China, when he/she affects 14 medical staff... [sweatdrop]

Wuhan virus: China confirms human-to-human transmission, says medical workers infected

BEIJING - China’s health commission said on Monday (Jan 20) that medical workers have been infected by the deadly coronavirus first discovered in the central city of Wuhan, confirming it can be transmitted between people.

“The current situation is that it is no longer animal to human transmission, but human to human,” said Chinese pulmonologist Zhong Nanshan, who discovered the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (Sars) coronavirus in 2003 and now heads an expert panel under the health commission.

He cited a case in Guangdong, where the patient had not been to Wuhan but caught the virus from a family member. Dr Zhong also said 14 medical personnel helping with coronavirus patients have been infected by one carrier.

"The key to controlling the spread of the disease now is to prevent a super-spreader from emerging,” Dr Zhong, director of the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, said.

Another member of the expert panel, virologist Gao Fu, said: “The virus is changing. The virus is adapting to the environment and adapting to humans.”

The expert panel warned that the number of infections will increase with the Chinese New Year mass migration.

The Wuhan virus that has killed three people so far has spread to China's financial hub Shanghai with more cases reported elsewhere in the country.

It's such a coincidence...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2020/01/patients-infected-china-virus-thousand-study-200117234508163.html

After being accused of covering up, in 3 short days, the virus changed from a "patriotic" one infecting just foreigners to what looks like the start of something serious mainland.

Hopefully its not too late now falls under the medical professionals jurisdiction and not the propaganda ones. 🤞

Economy already not good.

Seems like information can no longer be suppressed and thus the sudden spite in new cases reported in the past few days...

China says fourth person dies in Wuhan pneumonia outbreak

SHANGHAI (REUTERS) - A fourth person has died from pneumonia in the central Chinese city of Wuhan following the outbreak of a new coronavirus, health authorities said on Tuesday (Jan 21).

The 89-year-old man developed symptoms on Jan 13 and was admitted to hospital five days later after he experienced severe breathing difficulties, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission said in a statement. He died on Jan 19.

It said the patient also had underlying health diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

In a separate statement posted on its official Weibo account, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission said 15 medical workers in the city had been diagnosed with pneumonia with one other suspected case. Of the infected staff, one was in critical condition, it added.

The outbreak, which began in Wuhan, has spread to more Chinese cities including the capital Beijing and Shanghai, and four cases have been reported outside the country's borders, in South Korea, Thailand and Japan.

Authorities confirmed a total of 217 new cases of the virus in China as of 6pm on Monday, state television reported, 198 of which were in Wuhan.

I read the report 3 times...which part has insinuated that information had been "suppressed" ?

Even WHO cannot determine the strain of virus until last week and only confirmed H2H transmission this week.

Situation is constantly changing and I am sure medical authorities in China is just as anxious in finding out as much as they can....considering this weekend mass movement on CNY eve.

Please don't make assumption and hearsay when SARS-paranoid is starting to take hold.

Really hoped the cases would be negative for SG. If not, this time how many are going to drop tools and take the next flight out of SG, instead of manning the x-ray machines.
