No cure. These are actually waiting it out during isolation, for the body to fight the virus.

It's also like waiting to die..

Don't think the fatality rate is 100%.

36,000 Americans die of influenza a year, don't need to panic yet.  So far, those that died are mostly old folks, I read.  If I see the virus killing those in their 20s and 30s, I am going to go hide in the mountains next.

That's how selfish they can be. And I wonder why Singapore didn't quarantine them and allowed them to leave our country to neighboring Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight Chinese nationals who were in “close contact” with the first person to test positive for the Wuhan coronavirus in Singapore have entered Malaysia and are now being quarantined in a hotel in Johor Bahru, Malaysia’s Deputy Health Minister Lee Boon Chye confirmed on Friday (Jan 24).

“They are now in a hotel in Johor Bahru,” he told CNA in a phone interview.

Mr Lee declined to name the hotel, but added that the eight are free to move around in a “restricted area in the hotel” and are prevented from having contact with others.

In a statement released on Friday afternoon, Malaysia’s director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the eight consists of four adults and four children.

He added that Singapore’s Ministry of Health had contacted Malaysia’s Health Ministry on Thursday to inform them that the group had travelled to Johor Bahru.

After learning of this information, the Johor State Department of Health (JKN) “acted quickly” by locating them and conducting health screenings, said Dr Noor Hisham.

“The results showed they were healthy and had no signs or symptoms of infection until today,” he added.

Clinical samples have also been taken from the individuals for the 2019-nCoV detection test, Dr Noor Hisham said.

He added that the Johor State Health Department will continue to monitor their health for up to 14 days or until they return to their home country.

“The Ministry of Health Malaysia acknowledges the close cooperation and sharing of relevant health information provided by the Singapore Ministry of Health. This bilateral collaboration will continue to be strengthened between the two Ministries,” added Dr Noor Hisham.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday afternoon, Singapore’s Director of Medical Services Kenneth Mak said that the eight Chinese nationals left Singapore before they had a chance to complete all “epidemiological investigations”.

Moreover, he added that Singapore had handed all information to the relevant authorities.

Assoc Prof Mak added that the relevant health authorities “takes on their own set of interventions or measures in accordance to the systems and protocols they have in place over there”.

That number includes all those "suspect" and showing flu symptoms or fever. Could be just normal type and not the virus. But once go in hospital ... worse, have possibility of cross-infection

Coronavirus: death toll rises to 26 in China, with 830 infected – live news

For Tiongz epidemic news, adding at least one more zero at the end will be more realistic lah. Else why do you think they so kan cheong seal up the few cities covering 30M population?

If you're a hotel manager answering a room booking inquiry for guests that's recently been to Wuhan. What would you say?

WHO committee gathering data on the virus, said the virus spreads more easily from person to person than previously thought.

It initially appeared to spread only by very close contact that would typically occur within a family -- such as hugging, kissing, or sharing eating utensils -- but now evidence is accruing that shows more distant contact could spread the virus, such as if a sick person were to sneeze or cough near someone else's face.

That's what China did to travellers from African countries during the Ebola outbreak.

Got them off the plane first, screened them and quarantined them in a single designated hotel and made them carry around a GPS-enabled phone to track their movements.

Wonder whether the PRCs would enjoy being paid in the same coin, especially given how irresponsible some of them have proven themselves so far?

Just say its their lucky day.

Got one room left, some one just admitted to hospital with a bad flu and they are most welcome to have the room.

AT HALF PRICE as no one else wanted to stay here.

:a-good:

Would it have helped if we have closed our borders to PRCs earlier? More swift action? Since by nature human is selfish and wont self disclose their condition anyway...we have to be selfish ourselves..as a country

Just follow Hong Kong lah

Allow them to come but they themselves don't want to go.

The best way to stop people coming is welcome them but they don't want to come themselves.

[scholar]

The more you say cannot come they more they will want to come.

If Singapore can have 3 cases within a short period, there should be at least close to a million already affected in whole of China. In most cases, the symptoms would be no worse than a flu and would thus go untested.
