Yah and this new variation will finally make it to Cat A COE with just 129 horsepower. But iirc, it does attract $10K VES surcharge, so end of the day, price is not much different from the C180. Maybe C&C is anticipating that the price gap between cat A and B will increase?!

Built quality and spec wise, nothing to complain about this C160, but for a few grands different, I would take the C180 with Mercedes developed 1.6L engine vs this C160 using Renault developed 1.5L

The 1.5T in the C 160 is a Mercedes engine that also serves duty in the C 200.

Where did you get this info that it is a Renault engine from ? Source?

afaik, Renault engine that is used in Mercedes are 1.3 petrol turbo and 1.5 diesel turbo. This 1.5 petrol turbo should be the same unit used in C200 without the mild hybrid. I think this 1.5 petrol turbo got a huge potential to tune up it's power.

On the record, it did not strike me that the name of the car have anything to do with the car show model...

Yah, but in China, there are other model using the name 宋 and 宋 Max (Song Max here) is for the MPV variant.

Wait for the 2nd generation model, it may be called Song 2 Max, laggi better :D:D

What do you think leh? :D:D

Don't write off the car yet, it is anything but shabby...

Interesting how A & B class use smaller cc engine with higher output while C uses higher cc with lower output. This is quite norm seen in other make.

Suspect for more refinement on higher end model for less vibration and noise.

My apologies.[blush] I mistook it for the Renault H4K 1.5L (1,498cc) engine. Actually when I do some search just now, there isn't any furter info about this "new" 1,497cc engine from Mercedes-Benz. What available online is the M264 E15 DEH LA version which pair with mild hybrid system, no stand alone 1.5T.

Lol, for A and B class yes. C class not sure. 1.3 Litre turbo and can produce > 150bhp is impressive

Yes, the 1.3L (M282 DE14 & M282 DE14 LA) are from Renault.

So far totally zero info about this 1.5 unit (without  mild hybrid). Waiting for Mercedes / C&C to announce the details.

Nope, only Song Max EV will be introduced here this year. Song Max turbo and hybrid version will not be sold here as well, just the EV variant.

2 years!!! that must have been one helluva car. Can't remember seeing any volvos in my few recent trips to Tokyo though.

I also never saw any.

Long waiting time doesn't mean a long list of customers.

Maybe only a few on the list just the waiting time is long.

The front of the car looks very solid.

If your were to accidentally knock someone's MIL over

it could cause very serious damage and the front of the car looks like it will be just fine.

Aiyah I am very disappointed to see the Not for Sales sign.

Why lidat? Make people gian only and then tell them no matter how much money you offer also they cannot buy.
