These were people of their times, and perhaps arguably suited for those times. We can't judge them from our own lenses / POV of today.

My answer to you : People had less opportunities and less choices. Try it today on the young employees ... they'll walk out!

There are few uncessary commences on the former CJ Yong which I feel really sad.

The late Mr Yong Pung How gets my upmost respect for his hard work in rejuvenating the courts systems in SG.  

For those who live by the Laws or Rules of the country will repect his non-nonsense and strict upheld of the Laws.

For those who had fraud with the Law will not like his strict rules to the laws.

Once again, he was a nice, humble and soft spoken guy when not in his robe.
