Have some old (5 years old) sticky residue from double sided tape on my front door (zzz leftover from 5 years ago when i used double sided tape for CNY decorations).
I tried to remove it back then but then procrastinated cos i was busy then. Then haha now it's 5 years on.

Scrapping it doesn't work cos it's just a very thin residue that u can see and hardly feel.

It's the usual laminated type of door. Anyway to remove it without damaging the laminate?

Other than Rubbing alcohol, any other suggestions?

Wd40?

3M sticker remover works well. Spray it on, leave it to soak for a bit, top up the spray after 10min to let it soak all the way thru.

Test it on an unseen varnished area of the door first.

Keep a bottle at home. Very useful to remove double sided tapes, stickers, price tag and bar-code stickers.   [thumbsup]

Common brand is "Cutex", can buy from Guardian or NTUC  .... [sunny]

Nail polish contain 'Acetone' a solvent which is not as strong as thinner.... :we-all-gonna-die:

The fastest way to remove sticker and decals - use Eraser Stripe Off Disc. Widely used by auto panel / paint spraying companies.

" Removing the unwanted markings is fast, time saving and clean without causing any damage to the original paint surfaces.

The original paint surfaces will be free from marks and remain as good as it is."

Go to hardware shop and buy a bottle of "Zippo" lighter fluid. Not so strong smell if you don't like 'Cutex' or thinner smells  :gangs:
