Chance of Proton Revival in 🇸🇬?

Recommended Posts

There might be this slight chance of Proton making a comeback to 🇸🇬 due to Geely’s advice?

Might be a winner only if it comes with Lotus tuned suspension, Volvo safety features and a decent Geely chassis / engine.

Get accredited and show the world that it's product is as safe as a Volvo.

Milo tin is not something that you want your car to be associated with.

When they make a car as good and cheap as a Kia Stinger GT, then they can talk.

There is a possibility.  Which agent willing to distribute their cars?

Perhaps back to the previous distributor in 🇸🇬?

No need to be so high end as the Kia Stinger GT ba-their current X70 is good enough but still will have to depend on their selling price in 🇸🇬 as well.

It is a good idea to bring in those models collaborated with Geely, not those Saga, Persona... And if the pricing is right, with Geely backing, Proton can be competitive here.

Tax, Parf and Coe took up majority of the selling price

The price diff compare to a reasonable priced Korea car should be just few k. And ppl rather be seem in a Korea car than Malaysia car lo

Unless they have those 7 seaters 1.5l selling below 80k

For Proton X70, it is likely to price around Altis.  How to sell?

Since a considerable portion of the price (i.e. COE) is a constant, Proton might have a hard time to acquire the market in S'pore. Anyway, the market in S'pore is not that interesting as well. If they can focus and sell averagely in bigger countries, the results would be more fruitful.

Proton can only survive in Msia because of local car tax breaks.

With Proton you hear all the excuses. We are a small company, we have a small local market, we don't have economies of scale, R&D cost a lot of money.

The excuse you never hear is we have lousy managers and lazy workers and we don't know what quality control is.

I always like to hear hard truths. I miss it.

A sign that M.I.C. rides are getting more recognition and X70 is a badge-engineered Geely Boyue...
