My sis traveled to BKK 2 weeks ago and fell sick upon her return.  Luckily it wasn't Covid.  I avoided her for 2 weeks. Wahaha....

She admitted that it is not worth it as she is supposed to spend money and chill. Anyway, lots of precautions to take during the flights and while on the trip, after that, she had to worry for 2 weeks.

Ah thankfully though! I enjoyed my Bali trip! Other that being more vigilant, it didn't bother us too much when we were there. Maybe it's Bali. The locals there are pretty much ignorant about the whole virus situation if you ask me. They're confident Bali is safe. The only ones wearing masks at Bali? The sales assistants working in pharmacies like Guardian. Other than that, nope! Oh and also some immigration officers at the airport. For the rest it's business as usual. Tourism is their livelihood after all. They can't afford to be "afraid". Or maybe they truly believe in zero cases.

Day 1 at Ubud.

Fluffy clouds. Weather prediction says Cloudy at Bali and so true. Cotton candy sky.

A confused Jimny?

The way to our villa.

The swimming pool at our Airbnb Villa. Overcast sky.

First order of the day. Watercress Bali. It's located along the main touristy stretch of Ubud. We didn't have an itinerary for this trip so it was pretty much let's just walk and go in if the feeling is right. Lots of Caucasians here and menu seems ok too.

Great place to chill out, all day breakfast, coffee, organic salads, sandwiches, burgers and beer.

How can we not order Corona right? Who says Bali no Corona?

IMG_20200220_121043.thumb.jpg.00892c6dae4698ad7b8de22414e4c662.jpg

Ham and Cheese Sandwich. Was expecting more of the Singaporean type of Ham and Cheese. Picnic ham, cheese slice, slapped with two slices of toasted white bread. Lol.

We slacked here for a couple of hours while our host prepped our rooms. Brunch cost us about 470,000 rupiah? That's about SGD47 for maincourse, and a couple of beer. Our villa came with two rooms, and we booked the two rooms for two pax. Supposed to accommodate up to 6 pax at maximum capacity. So basically that means we booked the entire place to ourselves.

Rented these two Honda Scoopy from our host for SGD6 a day per scooter. Even comes with auto start stop engine. Not bad. Lol.

Dinner was at CP Lounge. Live band starts at 9pm with a late crowd. After 12am there's dance music all the way till 3am. Nice place to chill out at. Good attentive service too.

Pepperoni Pizza.

IMG_20200220_204957.thumb.jpg.e64bef9732ab568ed6131d1b75baf3ca.jpg

Crispy Duck my favorite aka headless duck. I think it was about 89,000 rupiah. About SGD 8.90? Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Worth it!

IMG_20200220_205833.thumb.jpg.5ddf8f8b3a08d703c4e721ef7ba4acc8.jpg

Had a few cocktails, beer, jagerbomb shots.

Have you stayed in a villa type of accomms before? It's close to nature so there's all sorts of insects especially mozzies. Even with the sliding door closed no idea how they get in.

Never stay in villa before, i think so?! Lol.

Falling sick while holiday or fall sick upon return is quite common even dont have covid-19. So no scare no scare. Lol.

bali not so nice le, look like hot and dusty...

It is actually very hot and humid. Hotter than Singapore. I went during the rainy season. But it was hot for most parts of the day then maybe it would rain for about an hour or so then back to being hot and humid, and maybe rain for another hour again.

Dusty? You mean haze? Lol. If you've been to Thailand then Bali comes close. Except maybe the people in Bali may be a bit poorer (I don't know for sure, but having been to the more rural places near Mt Batur it certainly looked that way, but they are warm, friendly and happy, most of them). They probably don't earn much and depend heavily on tourism. A lot of them are also tour guides/taxi drivers. Lots of restaurants are also empty or with just a single table whenever we passed. Not sure if this is due to off peak season or the virus situation contributing indirectly as well.

Bali is very hot. Not much cloud cover for a tropical country probably the main reason.
