Hi All,

My ride is Altis 2008 model. Need advise from ppl here. Currently looking to upgrade from stock rim. Look at OZ rim, 17" 5x100, 7.5J +35 offset. Some shop say +35 too out , recommend +48. Got another shop say +35 flush with fender , say +48 too in. So duno if use offset +35 will there be any issue like will bua fender if go over hump al this ..... My car not lowered.

Thanks

What is your  2008 stock size and offset?  Simple rule is from your current stock tyre width, for every 10 mm increase in new tyre width, you offset +5mm inward, but you may not exactly 5mm, so anything close to 5mm would be good.  Experts here feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I look up ur default and it says +39/40. Best to stick around this region. +35 still ok. +50 maybe a bit too in unless using wider tyres (7.5-8j)

The shop say stock rim should be +40 . I looking at OZ HyperGT 17", 7.5J either +48 or +35. offset .So now confused....

Currently on stock rim and tire profile 195/65/15.  I looking at OZ HyperGT 17", 7.5J either +48 or +35. offset .So now confused....

Use this for reference. Looks like for 7.5j 17" with a 215mm tyre, the offset should be +40. What tyre width are you reconsidering?

225mm tyre width and +35 offset

if you refer back to the Altis rim offset spec, 225mm at 7.5J 17" should go with ET35.

the information  your collected is 99.99% correct.

my only answer is Ask your self what do your want (not need)

1 issue you have to remember is the tire Size also.

for me if I upgrade , I will do 225/45/17 with 7jx17 offset +40

Yes. A 225 needs 7.5 to sit well. All the more at 45 profile. If 7in width rim, then 205-215

225/45/r17.. This was the rim I used to use for my 2008 altis. But I downgraded cos of fuel consumption. This should work

Oh did i make the correct decision ? hahaha
