1st April bidding may not be much lower Cos there were bookings for 3 weekends.
 

2nd April bidding obviously have to suspend with showrooms closed. It’s like playing a football match with the opponents having less players. It was a no brainer that COE bidding would be suspended. The only surprise was that they also suspended this week’s COE bidding. 
 

So how can say being robbed of lower PQP? In fact I would say if they allowed COE bidding to continue n PQP becomes lower due to obvious little demand, it would be robbing those who hv renewed PQP recently. 
 

In short, bidding has to be allowed on a level playing field. Not giving advantage to some who were allowed to take advantage due to unforeseen circumstances.

Prevailing Quota Premiums is the moving average of the COE prices in the last 3 months and varies from month to month.

For May, as there are only bidding in feb and march they may use the average of Feb & Mar.

This may be unfair, as the April COE (if there was a bidding exercise) may be lower.

No. LTA recently announced the COE Bidding Exercises in April 2020 has been suspended. Dealers may use their existing stock of Temporary COEs (TCOEs) to register new vehicles

The Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for CAT A to D will apply in May 2020. Car owners can pay the May 2020 PQP from 15 April 2020.

Due to the closure of LTA office, no cash or cheque payments for PQP will be allowed. Owners are advised to renew their COE online instead.

Thank you.  My colleague was hoping for apr coe to drop. But then now he will have to pay around $33k.

Somehow your version left out the “ april2020  PQP “applies. 
 

With the suspension of the COE bidding exercises in April 2020, the April 2020 Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for Categories A to D will also apply in May 2020.  Owners can pay the May 2020 PQP from 15 April 2020.  No cash or cheque payment for PQP will be allowed.  Owners are advised to renew their COE online at www.onemotoring.com.sg > Digital Services > Owning > Renew COE using their Internet Banking Accounts (i.e. eNETS Debit).

They will probably spread it out over the next 2 quota periods. ie apr2020 quota gets lumped into the new Jun-Aug and May2020 goes to Sep-Nov one? The original bidding periods were May-Jul and Aug-Oct.



They would then do an estimation of number of scrapped vehicles to derive the Jun-Aug quota and then compensate once the true numbers are known, in the Sep-Nov one.

 

thats how i would do it.

yes. April PQP is based on Jan-Mar average. now LTA has confirmed that May PQP =Apr PQP.

i guess Jun PQP will also be  equal to Apr PQP, given that they do not have any other figures to compute,

LTA site stated as per 4/4/20 that owner has up to take months to dispose the car after deregistration...wouldn’t it subject to low baller scrapyard or exporter on car body value?

errr... then strip out the seats and other parts to keep as souvenirs?well , it is LLST. what to do?
