LTA site stated as per 4/4/20 that owner has up to take months to dispose the car after deregistration...wouldn’t it subject to low baller scrapyard or exporter on car body value?

You need to pay scrapyard to scrap motorcycles. So, won't be surprised to see this happening to cars now.

In that case better to renew COE then wait for sharp renounce then sell it off

A tall order though

2nd Hand car trade in value is very low now.

Was quoted paper value for my car.

Its not only now.

They always only take in at paper value.

So if cannot sell they just scrap.

Not much loss for them.

That's why I don't know why people here worry for them.

Their loss is always very little.

C180. Normally Mercedes usually have a decent body value as there is market for 2nd hand., but dun seem like that now.

Sell direct. Don't let the car dealers eat all your profit.

Keep for yourself.

You mean you got zero for body value?

Usually C can easily fetch 2k for a sedan.

LTA is not efficient. They should make a statement earlier. Some online deal pretty good. Dealer said Coe price could go up.

I don't think any dealer will say coe will go down. Meanwhile, some dealers' coe rebate levels are at 20k

Yeah ever since coe was launched in 1990, the refrain has always been, better buy now before coe goes up.

Yes, very true

To put it plainly, if coe is going up, why would dealers reduce the rebate level?

COE will definitely go down. Question is will the car prices follow suite?

Even AD workshops now forced to shut down for more than 1 month.

Profit margins come first.

Price will follow but not by the same amount I suppose.
