Thought they allowed viewers to choose dual language on tv, like when we are watching korean show lo. Mewatch not really counted.

Thai/koream consider a national language while cantonese is more like province dialect.

HK dramas have improved quite a bit these few years. Even my young daughter switch from Korean/local dramas over.

The new ones no more studio-set - all filmed in real locations in HD. Story and cast is also stronger than before.

I think they have strong pressure from the very high budget mainland chinese productions. And now HK big dramas are co-invested with mainland china platforms like YouKu so they have more budget.

Fully agreed. I have given up on Hk production decade ago. Predictable script. Lousy acting skill with so many young unknown actor/actresses.  Even their celebratory annual drama standard also dropped. 

I am back watching korean drama while wifey/mum more into china production.

This short clip from season 1. 

Now awaiting season 3 coming this June.
