Do we really take reference from China's figures? Wouldn't bother looking at their numbers if they don't count their asymptomatic ones. Just imagine SG excluding it as well. Everyone's gonna go batshit crazy.

For some, delta outbreak in China is good news. Bringing cases down is bad news.

They are only here to share the good news for their circus audience.

I am surprised TS didn't post this 2 weeks old news.

Reuters (23 Aug)  China Reports No New Local COVID-19 Cases Since July.

"Ordinary people are basically used to the measures without having too many complaints. And the effectiveness (of those measures) is discernible - case numbers recently have significantly declined," the University of Oxford's Chen said..

China's Putian imposes travel curbs, closes public venues in new COVID-19 outbreak

A city in China's southeastern province of Fujian has closed cinemas and gyms, sealed off some entries and exits to highways and told residents not to leave town as it battles a local COVID-19 outbreak. The virus situation in the city of Putian is "serious and complex" and it is very likely more new cases will emerge in communities, schools and factories, state broadcaster CCTV said on Monday (Sep 13). Certain offline lessons in schools have also been suspended in Putian and China's national health authority has sent a team of experts to the city, which has a population of 3.2 million.

A total of 43 local cases had been reported in Fujian between Sep 10 and Sep  12, including 35 in Putian, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) shows. Another 32 asymptomatic cases, which China does not count as confirmed cases before they show clinical signs such as fever, have been detected in the province since Sep 10, all in Putian city.

Preliminary testing on samples from some Putian cases showed patients had contracted the highly transmissible Delta variant, a local health official said on Saturday. The first few infections, found during routine testing, were elementary students in Xianyou county in Putian. Experts suspected the source of the outbreak might be a student's parent who had travelled to the county from nearby Xiamen city after arriving from Singapore, state media reported on Saturday.

The suspected source had gone thru 21-days quarantine after returning from SG on flight MF852.  Total of 10 tests for COVID were conducted during that time with negative result. That infection spread to the family children which led to latest cluster in Putian. The infection has more <12 yr old patient - a classic sign of Indian variant COVID19.

https://news.sina.com.cn/c/2021-09-13/doc-iktzscyx3864515.shtml

err that's quite BS right.

Delta has a more rapid transmission window than previous variants. quarantine 21 days unlikely he/she is the source.
Unless someone is doing some half-assed swabbing. Than it's their own side fault.

Found it:

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/community-nus-research-fellow-covid-19-multiple-tests-apr-16-222736

One of the community cases is a 34-year-old Indian national who is a senior research fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS), said the ministry. He travelled to India from Dec 28 to Mar 21 and served his stay-home notice at a dedicated facility upon his return. He had tested negative for COVID-19 several times, the first of which was a pre-departure test in India on Mar 19.

The work-pass holder, who is identified as Case 61993, had gone to work on Apr 12, and he had onset of symptoms in the evening while at work, a day after he completed his quarantine.

yes. But was he delta variant? we don't know. in March, it was possible to be non delta even in India.

in singapore, home quarantine for contacts was just reduced from 14 -> 10 days.
And we had at least hundreds (and probably 4 digit now) of delta variant cases since delta broke out in singapore...

with china, since they don't list asymptomatic cases. I'll take a big pinch of salt when they describe "sources".

Especially with vaccinations, there will be lot of asymptomatic cases among the healthy and young ones.

Sup sup water lah. No fight with SG's daily cases. 😁

Chinese cities issue travel warnings after Fujian COVID-19 cases

China's COVID-19 outbreak in Fujian province, which has reported 152 local cases in five days, has prompted cities in other parts of the country to issue travel warnings ahead of major holidays, though state media warn against imposing blanket travel curbs. The travel warnings come ahead of the week-long National Day holiday starting on Oct 1, a major tourist season, as well as a shorter Mid-Autumn Festival holiday next week.

The National Health Commission said on Wednesday that 50 new locally transmitted cases were reported for Sep 14, compared with 59 infections a day earlier. All of them were in Fujian. That brings the total number of local infections in the three Fujian cities of Putian, where the outbreak began, Xiamen and Quanzhou to 152.

One ember can light a thousand fires (as SG has now realised)

China side proactive stamp out a burning match with a fire hose…. That’s why they can go for zero in a population dense country
