Same old scare tactics again. Yawn.....

Yeah.pump 675 million dollar and still have people ask to apologise?. I think some where, need to calibrate.

This report card says otherwise. You have more than 100 000 people looking at food on the table. Because after 6 months. Tnose still looking for job consider not unemplyed. So the report card and data analytics need to look at where its coming from.

But 5 million population vs 100 xxx workers, i feel pretty confident they know where the voters are.

PMD got rebate. Self employed got rebate. Am sure many will want to consider their choice.

I totally agreed with Sdf4786 explanation, Why cant G do one thing at a time, with C-19 still churning out hundreds of new cases per day, it's mind boggling to find peace and solace once the lockdown is open to public. How will Singaporean workforce react by going back office ?

Schools of all primary to tertiary institutions counter the mass returning students & supply chains company still not getting back on their feet . . . I already feel the strains and tiredness, minus the daily walk exercise, eating moderately, more than sleep and rest, the mind needs more thinking how to get back to the reality of life to normalcy.

For the G planning forth-comimg GE campaigning, the moods is not there, most important now is find lost job, unemployment hitting sky high and many small F&B outlets are facing uncertainty or bankruptcy looping around the corner.

The handout of reliefs by G is an token of appreciation, my thoughts are the aftermath of every crisis and setbacks, thy have to address the importance with careful consideration and astute planning / execution or the GE will be a total wash-out and free-fall.

for someone who literally spent his entire life protected from foreign competition... he sure talks big.

in fact, id goes far as to say he is protected from local competition too.

When asked if Singapore would review its reliance on foreign manpower, Mr Chan said the demand was "not monolithic" and served to complement the Singapore workforce.

“Our position has always been to see how we can reduce the dependence on the low wage workers in the construction industry, in the cleaning industry, in the security industry (and) so forth,” he said.

Reducing the country’s reliance on foreign manpower would also involve reducing the demand for manpower in certain sectors - such as using more high-tech methods in construction, incorporating greater security features when designing new buildings and people adopting "social habits" of cleaning up after themselves and taking care of the environment.

"We are constantly looking to see how we can get ... talented foreign manpower to complement the Singapore workforce, because if they are not competing on our side, then they are competing against us," he said.

“We would like to have talented individuals to be part of team Singapore, rather than competing against Singapore if they were somewhere else,” he added.
