A1 instant curry chicken sauce.

Btw manage to get this taupok from SS,  was the same ones which I got from wet market, not so rubber band type

Wah .. need to ration the yeast arh .. I heard ppl said supermarket yeasts all out of stock 2 weeks ago. Not sure what's the situation now.

The baking powder, if double acting, should have worked during mixing and during baking. Unless lost its potency ? Add some hot water to a teasp of it and see if it bubbles.

Baking soda and sour cream and orange juice should have worked as well. 

Maybe she left the batter sitting for too long ? All bubbles popped before going into the oven ?

I like solving baking problems. Very satisfying for me .. ha ha .. I usually like to try and try until I fix some problems in my bakes.

Here's a rough one...hope it helps.

Ingredients

Chicken fillet

Chinese sausage

Dried mushroom ( pre soaked til soft)

Quail egg ( hard boiled)

Season fillet and mushroom with salt, sugar, hua tiao wine, sesame oil to taste. 

Stir fry til semi cooked. Set aside.

Glutinous rice (pre soaked at least 8 hours)

Season with salt, sugar, oyster sauce, sesame oil to taste.

Stir fry rice til semi cooked, add some water while frying. Shallots optional.

Put liao at bottom of bowl, top up with rice and steam til cooked. 

Take da. Enjoy.

I've had a few attempts of cooking glutinous rice before and learnt a couple of impt things, which bro @TangoCharlie mentioned above.

- Pre-soak the rice is very impt. If forget to pre-soak, then forget about cooking today. Then soak today, cook tmr 😅

- When you start to stir-fry, the rice grains are all separated. Stir-fry until they start to stick together. Then it's ready to be steamed. When stir-frying, can keep on adding water. Use water from soaking the mushrooms (or from soaking hae-bee, if using). More flavorful.
