He just cannot differentiate between bacteria and virus.

His approval rating is still at 47% despite his inept handling of the corona virus which catapulted USA to the number 1 epicentre of the world.  We are doing much better than most countries relatively speaking (save for HK and Taiwan perhaps) but....

Are we less forgiving or we have unrealistic expectations?

IMHO ... political will (communist) and Asian country vs lack of political will (democratic) and western countries. The lockdown was absolute, iron-clad and non-negotiable. They "sacrificed" Hubei ie no entry and no exit for 10-12 weeks. People suffered but recovered.

It is funny how we have short memories. In the initial few weeks, people criticised China saying too draconian and too heavy-handed - their people are suffering, how can China do this and that etc etc. The situation resolved in 10 -12 weeks. Everyone now applauds their actions.

If we do not fail to adhere to the CB, the infectivity curve will overwhelm the healthcare system. PLEASE STAY AT HOME!

These are 3 separate issues. I will just reply on the 2nd issue.

With regards to coronavirus, there is no "better than most countries" answer. There is either (i) hospitals overwhelmed or (ii) hospitals not overwhelmed answer. We are now in the beginning of a frightening spike with a curve that is shooting up. It is too early to say we will be (i) or (ii) at this stage.

For TW and to an extent HK, since their numbers are going down significantly and with their border closed, they are very likely to achieve (ii) not overwhelmed at this stage. After the whole pandemic is over, they can heave a sigh of relief and give themselves a pat on the back.

It is otherwise foolhardy to congrats or pat ourselves on the back when the job is nowhere done. I know an election is coming but pls see through the veil.

He's a bonafide psycho. His countrymen dying but his ratings are more important. But he appeals to redneck tigerking voters so that's what matters.GwwTwmBl.png

Interesting. Kope this from another thread that's locked now. Data as at 11 April 2020.

Big big figures man. Top 6.

Let's watch n not be too ambitious to be there. But in light of world picture, we have a good fighting chance to keep it low.

Big picture will restore some semblance of what's going around the world and we are not whipped into a frenzy of panic.

But Covidiots will need to be given a stern warning, either dun pah pah zhao n stay home or pay own medical bills if infected thru own stupidity.

Hope the world will have a vaccine yesterday.

Another interesting read :

South Korea reports recovered coronavirus patients testing positive again

People fully recovered and tested negative for caronavirus tested positive again later. They think it is not reinfection since your body developed antibodies for this virus already. They expected more cases in the coming weeks from more testing of recovered patients. Some situation happening in China. So how to get rid of this virus completely once you are infected? Don't get close to those people recovered from caronavirus, they may still be carrying the virus.

😅vaccine oh vaccine, where art thou? So many Covid-19 to be killed off or at least reduced to "flu" or "cough" status so spread can be contained.

Have a good weekend. Pls expect high numbers. Dun be naive. Just an infected person can trigger a spread easily. With so many who did not bother out walking about since last few days, no need to be shocked. Covid-19 loves attention while acting coy.

Yada-ing

Take care, be calm and stay home ya.

Do your part to keep the elderly home too but dun take your frustration at them. We all have our elderly to handle. Not easy but it needs to be well communicated.

Cheers

UK is right behind China with 73,758 cases, but a much higher death toll of 8,958.  It will soon overtake China to be one of the top 6 in term of number of cases. The mortality rate in these western countries are much higher than that of Asian Countries.
