Thousands of cars drive on this road.

Only a few crash.

Its not the car, its not the road.

Its the driver.

Thanks for highlighting.

Drive/Ride this stretch once in a while, do find some road factors possibly contributing the accidents which LTA should do sth abt it. Possible reasons are:

1) There are a couple of ?metal plates joining the roads. These, together with the white lane markings can be slippery especially on wet roads.  Riders can feel it loosing grip - cars not so, probably due to safety features like skid control/traction control/electronic stability control available for cars.

2) Corner with gradient/slope.  Need to accelerate to maintain same speed. Sudden change in direction or acceleration may cause vehicle to loose control.  Excessive speed on this stretch aggravate this.

3) Vehicles changing lanes eg to exit on the right to Bt Timah or further down to Clementi Ave 6. This lane change, if not done correctly may cause other vehicle to suddenly change direction or speed/brake, same as point no 2.

Advise

- avoid excessive speed (even 70km/hr on a wet roads can be risky, understand own skills and car abilities

- maintain your lane/avoid changing lanes and keep further following distance

- Off cruise control at this stretch

- use good non worn out tyres with proper inflation

recently drove past that stretch, there's alot of marks on the concrete divider.

was on the first lane, i felt nothing wrong with the road. perhaps (for others) possibly poor tyre grip/inattention to the road?

last week spotted a few cars (at traffic lights) with bald/nearly worn tyres. e.g an SMG plate opel suv.

The two assessors will have to decide what to replace. But if the cost of replacement is too high, it may even be treated as a total loss.

Another car beat red light? The silver car nearly crashed onto the bicycle crossing at the pedestrian light.

FYI for all the keyboard generals questioning mata SOP.

Woman driver, 21, drives against traffic when disqualified from driving to escape Traffic Police, revs engine as officer approaches

https://mothership.sg/2020/05/woman-driver-traffic-police-uncooperative/

On May 28, 2020 at about 5:05pm, a Traffic Police (TP) officer spotted the female driver suddenly cutting across the first lane to the third lane along Tampines Expressway, and then cutting across the chevron markings to turn into Jalan Kayu road, which caused another driver to apply the emergency brake to avoid a collision.

When the TP officer signalled the female driver to pull over to the side of the road, she sped off instead.

Although after the left turn arrow it will be green light, during transition from left turn arrow to green lights there is technically a brief period of red lights.

This is for pedestrians to start crossing before the lights turn green.

Just be patient a bit esp TP behind.
