If the listed price is not the closing price than it’s very stiff

From experience, usually VW/Skoda will shave $5K off the listed price when a buyer goes down to the showroom. But for Audi, they are quite sticky with the price listed on audisale.sg

Cupra Leon hot on the heels of the Golf GTI. 300bhp, 0-100kmh in 5.7sec. At $202,999, it undercuts the GTI by abt $3k despite suffering a VES penalty of $20K (GTI is VES neutral).

Given the functionality over gti .. the cupra seems to be a better car.. 

of course the same could be true of a Rolex vs Casio if is a couple of a dollars cheaper. Get a Rolex even if a Casio has great stop watch functionality 😂 

the new GPF “curse” effectively delete the pop and bangs of the exos of the gti n the cupra will be a better sounding car.

it’s also single injectors vs the port n direct injection of the MK7 n hence the price appreciation on the resale market other than the raising cost of COE.

Hardcore mod-siao boy racers won't buy into the GTI type of plug & play, daily use hot hatch approach

It's for a more 'matured' crowd who appreciates that there's more to driving enjoyment than simply going faster, going harder, shouting louder and still looking like a respectable member of society

That's where the GTI shines

The Scala is size comparable but it's actually on a different (VW Polo) platform, it's the Octavia which shares platform with the others mentioned
